From Cusco, President Pedro Castillo announced the convening of the National Accord for March 26, with the aim of reaching agreements for the benefit of the country, as announced in his address to the Congress of the Republic last Tuesday, 15.
The head of state spoke this way during the closing of the First Meeting of Municipal Commonwealth of the country, held in Calca, from where he invited the local authorities so that they can participate in the meeting and meet their main needs.
“Today we are here because of the democratic cry of the authorities at the national level, I announce from this space that on Saturday, March 26, we will carry out the National Accord, the Assembly of the National Accord, where they are in a disciplined, orderly and organically invited to participate,” he said.
Along these lines, Castillo Terrores said that this meeting will serve to give attention to the real needs of the country, which will be an important step towards putting Peru ahead and leaving conflicts aside.
“We take up this democratic cry, in my speech to Congress we have said that we turn the page of confrontation, of these useless dimes and diretes, because we cannot inherit any more things that harm the country,” he said.
“Look at what schools are like, how are the forgotten villages, without a road, that is the town we have received after 200 years of oblivion and today we are going to change it,” he added.
He also mentioned that his presence constitutes the Government's commitment to making decentralization a reality. In addition, he indicated that the fight against poverty and the closing of gaps requires the support of all Peruvians and the country's leading authorities.
“I call again on the Council of Ministers to move from speech to action, from word to action. People cannot continue to eat speeches, they cannot continue to feed on meetings, they need immediate attention,” said the president.
“We cannot be in Palacio directing the country's destiny knowing that its own community is without water, without a road or its school is falling,” he continued.
Finally, he addressed the Legislative Branch to inform him that there will be no more confrontations from the Executive. “I invoke the political class, the Congress of the Republic, those who ruled that on our part there will be no confrontation,” he asserted from Calca.
CASTLE PROMISES TO CORRECT ERRORS
A few days ago, in his participation in the Executive Meeting with Mayors of the District Municipalities of Peru, held in San Borja, the president assured that he will correct mistakes he has made in his management.
“Yesterday (Tuesday) I was in Congress and I went to say that all management has errors. And in the next few hours I will correct some mistakes that have been made,” the president said, referring to Tuesday's speech in Parliament, where he said: “I must acknowledge the mistakes and mistakes we have made. I express to the parliament and the country my spirit of amendment and correction.”
Meanwhile, Vice-President Dina Boluarte explained that “the errors” referred to by the head of state have occurred in his administration refer to “the appointment of some ministers”. “I think the president was referring to them,” he said. However, he did not specify what kind of “corrections” the president would make in the next few hours.
Precisely, this morning, there was a change in the Justice and Human Rights portfolio. Félix Inocente Chero Medina was sworn in as head of the sector in replacement of Ángel Yldefonso Narro, who resigned after being questioned by the Congress of the Republic.
