Local Mayor of Usme criminally denounced her own father to the Public Prosecutor's Office for demanding money from a contractor

A real controversy arose around the mayor of Usme, Mabel Andrea Sua, after some audios were leaked in which her father would be demanding and pressing contractors for some money to favor her. For this reason the Mayor's Office of Bogotá demanded her resignation, however, everything seems to indicate that she would not be involved in these events.

At that time, Mabel Andrea Sua assured that she will take legal action against her father for the alleged pressures and demands of the millionaire figures. The local mayor of Usme has experienced difficult times as she is being made remarks due to this situation. The Government Secretariat indicated that it is already in charge of the case and is moving the legal process forward.

According to the version given by the local president to El Espectador, this whole situation began when a few days ago, a journalist approached the mayor of Usme, stating that she had an audio where her father, Jorge Tiberio Sua, is demanding the money from a contractor. Mabel Andrea Sua replied, “if you have the audio of the commission of a crime, send it to the Prosecutor's Office.”

He even stated that what happened was repeated some time before with a woman who had a contract for the provision of services with the Mayor's Office of Usme. Speaking to El Espectador, the mayor said that, “she told me that, as a result of the audio, she recommended that I continue hiring her next year so that she would have no problem. I answered the same thing I told the journalist, to report to the authorities, but not to come and extort me so that I would give a contract to a person”.

Between tears he revealed to the media that, “that process is very difficult, because he is my dad, he is the grandfather of my children, but yes. Today, that process will take place before the Prosecutor's Office. I will request that you investigate. This is a complaint in which I have no proof, I have no evidence, I have nothing. I only have a message from a journalist with the audio and a text that she says my dad is asking a lady for money. Then I'm going to file a complaint, because I never imagined that anything like this would happen in my career. I am not going to allow someone else's adult acts to be endorsed by me.”

After all that was revealed, a criminal complaint was filed with the Attorney General's Office to promptly investigate the events that would have occurred in 2021. Also, “a disciplinary complaint was filed with the Office of Disciplinary Affairs of the Secretariat of Government to immediately investigate officials and contractors”.

Apparently the official who had been pressured by the father of the mayor of Usme is the same person who told him a few months ago that he owned the audio and even demanded a job with the Usme Mayor's Office, however Mabel Sua insisted that he take that information to the Prosecutor's Office so that the development of the relevant research.
