“Let it go”: the propaganda against AMLO and the Revocation of Mandate that appeared in some states

Users on social networks shared spectacular images of entities such as the State of Mexico and Yucatan, governed by the PRI and the PAN, respectively, where they promote the anti-AMLO vote

After the controversy that sparked in recent days by the invasion of propaganda in the streets that invites you to participate in the popular consultation on the Revocation of Mandate next Sunday, April 10, ads have appeared in various parts of the country promoting the vote against President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

And it is that users on social networks shared that in entities such as the State of Mexico and Yucatán, governed by the PRI and the PAN, respectively, you can find messages that invite you to reject the continuity of AMLO at the head of the Mexican Republic; or, to not participate in the democratic exercise organized by the National Institute Electoral (INE).

In the first case, the panoramic view was located in the city of Toluca, on the Alfredo del Mazo highway, as well as many others on the Lerma highway heading to the Mexican municipality

The caption reads: “This April 10 vote for him to leave. Because he lied to us, robbed us and betrayed us!” , accompanied by a photo of López Obradror walking on his back

While in Mérida, several spectacular ones appeared this week that appeal to the apathy of citizens not to go out to vote, as happened in 2021 with the popular consultation to “prosecute former presidents”, which caused the result to be non-binding.

The message dictates “the revocation was a campaign promise do you think it will deliver? It's a clear hoax on April 10. Don't go out and vote”, along with the illustration of a circus tent and a polling box in the center.

It was the Uniendo Caminos México group that paid to place this propaganda “with its own means” and placed them in three strategic points: In a shop on Canek Avenue, in a Plaza in Ciudad Caucel and on a cold dessert shop near the Macroplaza.

The leadership of the group, headed by Ricardo Elizondo, assured that “with this we are inviting citizens interested in good governance, to be informed of irregularities in the process of revocation of mandates that, already within the framework of the Constitution, become illegalities based on the times and ways used to patch articles that interfere with the purposes of the president”.

They stated that, unlike the “descent” campaign by the INE, where the opacity of the contractors of the spaces and capital to carry it out reigned, here the law assists them.

It is worth mentioning that last week the Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute ordered the withdrawal of the propaganda that was denounced by PRI, PAN and PRD, as well as by citizens, in view of the lack of certainty about who or who is behind the placement of 278 spectacular and other types of advertising, with which would be influencing citizenship to favor the President.

This advertising is present in 19 entities in the country, 62 municipalities and even in what is presumably the infrastructure of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), so it is being investigated.
