During this holiday weekend, it is expected that more than 650 thousand vehicles will be moved through the main entrances and exits of Bogotá, according to the Ministry of Mobility. Therefore, in order to avoid traffic congestion, the entity recalled the measures that will govern the city during the exodus plan and the return plan.
The official also reminded all travelers that this Monday holiday, March 21, will govern the regional peak and plate measure for the return to Bogotá, in order to guarantee an orderly and congestion-free entry to the Cundinamarca region and the capital of the country.
Thus, the measurement of the regional peak and plate will work as follows:
- From 12:00 noon to 4:00 in the afternoon: only vehicles whose license plate ends in an even number may enter.
- From 4:00 in the afternoon until 8:00 at night: vehicles whose license plate ends in an even number may enter.
Please note that: before 12:00 noon on March 21, any vehicle will be able to enter the city regardless of its license plate number, as well as after 8:00 at night.
The Mobility Secretariat also recalled that the regional peak and plate restriction will apply to the nine corridors of entry to the city:
- North Highway: from the Andes toll road to the northern portal of the TransMilenio system, in a north-south direction.
- South motorway: from the municipal boundary of Soacha to Boyacá Avenue, south/north.
- Centenario Avenue (13th Street): from the Bogotá River to the Ciudad de Cali Avenue (Carrera Avenue 86), in the west-east direction.
- 80th Street Avenue: from the Guadua bridge to the 80th portal of the TransMilenio system, in the west-east direction.
- Carrera Avenue 7: from 245th Street to 183rd Street, north/south direction.
- Avenida Boyacá via al Llano: from the Algerian Durán Quintero tunnel to the old road to the Llano, south/north.
- Via Suba Cota: from the Bogotá River to 170 Street Avenue, north/south.
- Via la Calera: from the Patios toll road to Carrera 7 Avenue, in the east-west direction.
- Via to Choachí: from the road to Monserrate to the Circunvalar avenue, in the east-west direction.

The Mobility Secretariat also reported that, during Sunday 20 and Monday 21 March, they will implement a reversible in the seventh race from 3:00 in the afternoon to 8:00 in the evening. The measure will be executed between 245th Street and 180th Street, in a north-south direction. In addition, on 180th Street there will be a detour for those drivers who travel to the area of El Codito in a south-north direction.
Likewise, the entity announced that, in order to improve mobility on the Southern Highway during this weekend, the TransMilenio exclusive use lane will be used in a controlled manner on the Soacha-Autosur trunk, as follows:
- Exodus Plan (Bogota-Soacha):
Saturday, January 19 from 09:00 a.m.
- Plan return (Soacha-Bogotá):
Sunday 20 and Monday 21 January from 09:30 a.m.
As a final point, the Secretariat warned drivers that, if they fail to comply with the regional peak and plate measure, they will be exposed to the immobilization of their vehicle and the payment of a fine of 468,500 pesos, in accordance with the sanctions stipulated in the National Traffic Code.
