CJNG cell dedicated to kidnappings and murders broke up in Cancún

The operation involved the Army, National Guard, CNI, Semar and the state police, as well as the 11 alleged members of the group led by the “Mencho”

Federal and Quintana Roo agents arrested 11 suspected members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) operating in the Cancun tourist paradise, where they are implicated in murders, as well as kidnappings.

Oscar Montes de Oca, state attorney, reported that there are 10 men and one woman, who have been tracked for a couple of months. According to the State Secretary of Public Security, Lucio Hernández Gutiérrez, the arrest was achieved on the morning of March 17.

“The detainees said they belonged to the criminal group called the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and that their illegal activities consisted of locating and depriving of liberty people related to drug trafficking activities in order to align them and obtain information from other narco-nudists,” said the prosecutor.

Three people were located in the actions, who were inside a building located in the Paraíso Mayal subdivision of superblock 107 in the municipality of Benito Juárez. Those deprived of liberty were linked to the sale of drugs and two of them had records of missing persons.
