Weather in Mexico for March 18: rain and strong winds in most parts of the country

Showers and heavy rains in northeastern, eastern, central and southeastern Mexico will result from the presence of the 37th cold front in interaction with a low-pressure channel. Rainfall will be occasionally heavy in entities such as Puebla, Veracruz and Oaxaca. In the north of the territory strong gusts of wind are expected with the generation of hoppers and a warm climate.

The National Weather System forecasts minimum temperatures of up to -10º C in mountainous areas of Chihuahua and Durango, and up to -5º C in Sonora, Coahuila, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes and the State of Mexico. In contrast, the highs will go up to 45º C in Nayarit, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Veracruz, and up to 40°C in San Luis Potosi, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Colima, State of Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Chiapas, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.

CDMX and Valle de México: During the morning, cold weather is forecast in high areas surrounding the region. Clear sky conditions are expected in the morning with increased cloudiness during the afternoon and night, as well as a warm environment and the likelihood of isolated rains in Mexico City and with intervals of showers in the State of Mexico, which could be accompanied by electric shocks.

In Mexico City, a minimum temperature of 12 to 14° C and a maximum of 25 to 27° C is forecast. For the capital of the State of Mexico, a minimum temperature of 4 to 6° C and a maximum of 22 to 24° C.

Baja California Peninsula: Clear skies most of the day, no rain in the region. Cool morning atmosphere. Cold temperatures with possible frosts at dawn in mountain areas of Baja California. In the afternoon, temperate to warm atmosphere.

North Pacific: Clear skies and no rain in the region. Cold to very cold morning environment. Frost at dawn in the mountains of Sonora. In the afternoon, warm atmosphere.

Central Pacific: Partly cloudy sky and no rain in the region. Cool morning atmosphere. Cold temperatures with frost at dawn in the mountains of Jalisco. Very warm atmosphere in the afternoon.

South Pacific: Partly cloudy sky in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon, chance of very heavy occasional showers in northern Oaxaca, heavy rain in Chiapas and isolated rains in Guerrero. The rains will be accompanied by electric shocks and possible hail falls in Oaxaca and Chiapas. Cool morning atmosphere with fog banks in the mountains of Oaxaca and Chiapas. Very warm to very hot atmosphere in the afternoon.

Gulf of Mexico: Cloudy afternoon sky with a probability of very heavy occasional showers in the central mountain area of Veracruz and intervals of showers in Tabasco and isolated rains in Tamaulipas, all accompanied by electric shocks and possible hail fall in Veracruz. Cool to temperate morning atmosphere and warm to hot in the afternoon.

Yucatan Peninsula: Partly cloudy sky with isolated rains in Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo. Very warm atmosphere in the afternoon.

Mesa del Norte: Clear sky in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon, with a chance of showers in San Luis Potosi. No rain in the rest of the region. Cold to very cold morning environment. Frosts at dawn in the mountains of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Durango, Zacatecas and Aguascalientes. Warm atmosphere in the afternoon.

Mesa Central: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a probability of very heavy occasional showers in Puebla, showers in Hidalgo, as well as isolated rains in Querétaro and Tlaxcala, which could be accompanied by electric shocks and hailfalls in Puebla. No rain in Morelos. Cool morning atmosphere. Cold temperatures with frost at dawn in high areas of Guanajuato. Temperate to warm atmosphere in the afternoon.
