Iced cheese is a traditional dessert from the city of Arequipa that always gets thousands of compliments thanks to how delicious and creamy it is. However, despite being such a traditional recipe, most have no idea how it is prepared or what ingredients it contains. Does frozen cheese really have cheese? It is a question that many people ask themselves and thanks to a video made by the TikTok account @elfoodieloo it now has an answer.

The profile that usually shares recipes and restaurant recommendations was encouraged to show a recipe to make this traditional dessert at home. Although it does not contain all the ingredients of the classic sweet, it is a simple option for those who want to dare to prepare this Arequipa delight at home.

INGREDIENTS

-2 yemas

-1/2 tablespoonful of cornstarch

-4 tablespoons of sugar

-1 cup of evaporated milk

-1 cup of fresh milk

-1/2 can of condensed milk

-1/2 cup of water

-6 tablespoons of coconut

-Cinnamon sticks

-Cloves

-1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

-Cinnamon powder (to decorate)

PREPARATION

1. The first thing we will do is to have all the ingredients ready and ready to use them. Now, in a bowl we will mix the yolks, cornstarch, sugar and vanilla essence. We beat all the ingredients well until they are integrated and set aside.

2. Then, in a pot we toast the coconut, cinnamon, cloves and add the fresh milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk and water and mix everything so that it is integrated until it breaks a boil and then strain the mixture.

3. From this second mixture we take as a spoon approximately and pour it into the first mixture we made. We beat well until integrated.

4. Now we pour the milk we made into a pot and mix it with the other mixture of the yolks. Beat until it breaks to a boil and the mixture thickens.

5. Once it is ready, place the mixture in a bucket or container of your choice and freeze overnight.

6. It is served the next day with cinnamon powder sprinkled on top.
