The last call of the Mexican National Team for the Concacaf Octagonal came out, Gerardo Tata Martino shared his list of players who will seek qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. However, the names that came out were not to the liking of all fans.
Through social networks, different fans broke the decision of the Argentine coach because he left out some of the footballers who have had outstanding performances in the Liga MX. The public was annoyed by not seeing Carlos Acevedo, Alan Mozo, Erik Lira, among others in the call.
With memes and messages of contempt, different netizens reproached Tata Martino's list. Comments such as “For me that Tata is a burning Argentine who wants to see Mexico lose”, “Where is Mozo, stupid Tata?” and “One more shame. The worst dt that the Mexican national team has had in its history”, were some of the comments that began to emerge.
Even some fans of the tricolor team hinted that with this team they would lose to the United States, the first rival they will face on this FIFA date, and with it Gerardo Martino would be fired from the national team.
“Let's hope with passion that Tata Martino loses 4 times in a row against the USA to get out of the Mexican National Team,” one Twitter user wrote.
Throughout Concacaf's octagonal heading to Qatar 2022, the public's insistence on seeing the new faces of Mexican football has been ignored because the only new elements that have joined the rally are Israel Reyes, Jesús Angulo, Santiago Giménez and Johan Vásquez.
