After dropping out of the contest as a pre-candidate for the government of Quintana Roo, saying goodbye to Movimiento Ciudadano, Roberto Palazuelos promised that he will try again for a political position.
On February 18, Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) announced that its candidate for the government of Quintana Roo would be José Luis Pech and not Roberto Palazuelos, who had already been registered as pre-candidate. Before leaving the contest, the actor had stated that he would leave the show if he won, because his goals went beyond being governor.
Although there is no longer any political party that will lead him to the elections in Quintana Roo next June, he assured that this is not the end of his quest to come to power. Even the actor compared himself to “many of those who rule this country today”, since they too would have tried several times to come to power.
He also announced that he will soon release the second season of his reality show Palazuelos Mi Rey and will open a new hotel.
“I will return, let there be no doubt left, stronger, wiser. Many of those who rule this country today had to try several times. The one who perseveres always reaches, in the meantime, prepare for my second season of Palazuelos Mi Rey and the upcoming opening of my new NAIA hotel. I will continue to generate jobs and promote and protect the Mexican Caribbean and my beautiful Mexico,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
This is not the first time that the actor has announced that he will try to enter politics again, because in an interview he gave to W Radio shortly after announcing that he would leave the Quintana Roo contest, he assured that this time he would try to launch himself as an independent candidate, but within six years.
The Black Diamond had to give up its plans to seek to become governor because of the statements he came to make about an alleged murder of which he would have been a party, his admiration for El Chapo Guzmán and the accusations that Lydia Cacho made against him.
According to the story, the pressure due to the fact that it was affecting the image of the party was very strong, so he had decided to leave it and continue looking in other ways.
Since it was confirmed that Palazuelos had been registered as the MC's pre-candidate to govern Quintana Roo, users on social networks evidenced some comments he made in interviews, questioning what kind of governor he might be.
One of his statements that caused a stir was when he revealed in an interview with Yordi Rosado that he had been part of the murder of two people. been in self-defense and accompanied by persons from the army, the manner in which he expressed himself at that time was drawn attention.
“There was a put* shootout, Yordi. We killed two bastards (...) everyone gave them all (...) We killed the fat man, we killed another wey,” he said during the interview.
A few days after netizens resumed his statements and trended the name Palazuelos, he defended himself by arguing that his story had been misunderstood, since he again pointed out that it would have been self-defense and that he had not murdered anyone.
Likewise, in an interview he gave to Adela Micha in 2019, he expressed his admiration for El Chapo Guzmán because of the way he fled from El Altiplano, saying that it had been a movement of the illusionist Houdini.
