The Government announced the opening of applications for the grants of the Argentine Student Support Program (PROGRESAR), which will begin on March 1 and last until April 30, so that secondary and university students can apply for State aid to finish their studies. The measure was communicated through Resolution 799/2022, published this Friday in the Official Gazette.

With the signing of the Minister of Education, Jaime Perczyk, the call for persons interested in this assistance was announced, both for the “Completion of compulsory education” line and for the “Promotion of higher education” line, with a monthly subsidy that was set at $6,400 for both cases.

Meanwhile, for fellows who are students in certain university degrees that have been called “strategic” since 2020, the aid will also be 6,400 pesos for second-year students, but it was increased to $6,740 for third year students, $8,490 for fourth year students and $10,660 for fifth-year students.

Similarly, students of non-university “strategic careers” will be able to receive a subsidy of 6,400 pesos.

To apply for the line for the completion of compulsory education, the interested party must be between 16 and 24 years old and prove that they are Argentine, native or naturalized, or a foreigner with legal residence for at least two years in the country, and all must have a national identity document.

Persons up to 35 years of age who are in charge of a single-parent household with minor children; members of indigenous communities and/or those belonging to indigenous peoples; trans people and the disabled may also apply for the scholarship. In the latter cases, there is no age limit to enroll.

Finally, it was recalled that the sum of the young person's income and that of his family group should not exceed three Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wages (SMVM) except that young applicants are holders of a non-contributory disability pension, and must comply with the presentation of regular student certificates and required academic conditions.

Meanwhile, the lines of promotion of higher education are aimed at young people between 17 and 24 years of age, or up to 30 for advanced students, and to prove that they are Argentine, native or naturalized, or foreigner with legal residence of at least five years in the country, and have a national identity document.

The requirements for family income will be the same as in the previous case, but to access this benefit it is also necessary to be a graduate of the middle level and not owe subjects at the time of registration; enter to study or be pursuing a degree or undergraduate degree in public institutions such as National Universities , Provincial, National University Institutes, and to attend or enter to study at State-run Institutes of Technical Training and Teacher Training.

The application for the scholarship must be made using the registration form made available on the “Progresar” website (progresar.educacion.gob.ar) or through the Progresar App. The applicant may modify his/her data only until such time as the aforementioned registration form is closed and submitted. Once submitted, you will be registered as an applicant, and in the declared conditions.
