Queiroz's assistant archers denied that there was a split dressing room after the rout against Ecuador

More than a year after Carlos Queiroz left as head coach of the Colombia national team, there are still doubts about the reasons and terms of the end of the African strategist and his coaching staff's contract with the Colombian Football Federation (FCF).

The 0-3 routs against Uruguay and 6-1 against Ecuador gave a glimpse of the national team's sports crisis, in which there are crossed versions of whether Queiroz was fired or failing that the current coach of Egypt decided to resign from his post after the shameful defeat by five goals apart in Quito.

One of the people who spoke about the situation that the coffee team went through in Ecuadorian lands was Ricardo López, former goalkeeper coach of the Carlos Queiroz cycle, who told RCN News what was experienced internally after the heavy defeat against the Argentine national team led by Gustavo Alfaro.

At the time of Queiroz's departure from the tricolor technical direction, López told how they learned that he would no longer work with David Ospina, Camilo Vargas and Álvaro Montero, as well as the painful process that the coaching staff went through after the suicide of former Colombian archers coach, Irishman Des McAleenan:

Ricardo added that it was a pleasant experience to work with the Colombians in football for the Copa America and the qualifiers heading to Qatar 2022. He is also optimistic about the future of the national team thanks to the names of his players:
