Although Millonarios FC has not played since 0-3 against Independiente Santa Fe on Sunday, March 6, in the week after the 202-2026 legislative elections in Colombia, one of its strikers was trending on social networks and not precisely because of his sporting activity.
This is Ricardo el Caballo Márquez, who has been in the sights of the swollen ambassador because since he arrived on loan to the blue squad in August 2021 he has only scored two goals, being the 9th of the team led by Alberto Gamero.
The former Unión Magdalena player has not been able to convert this year into six of the 10 games that Millonarios FC has had in the 2022 BetPlay I League, nor in the two Copa Conmebol Libertadores 2022 games against Fluminense, so according to what has been done on the pitch he has aroused criticism for his poor performance sporting.
However, due to a traffic accident involving the 24-year-old center samario striker, his arrival at one of the Bogotá team's training sessions on the morning of Wednesday, March 16, was complicated.
Márquez González was walking through the streets of the capital to head to training with his team, at the clubhouse north of Bogotá. However, his punctuality was affected by a road mishap with the car in which he was traveling.
Through Twitter, user @BlueMillos1946 shared a post where it is evident that a Nissan vehicle hit a BMW car, where the Magdalenense apparently would be mobilized:
Beyond the road mishap suffered by Ricardo Luis, there were no serious damages that compromised the integrity of the athlete of the ambassador squad. There would have been complications and minor scratches on the bodies of each vehicle but, fortunately for the parties concerned, the situation did not grow up and there were no injuries involved.
The unusual situation lent itself to netizens following the capital's team to mock their misfortune both on and off the pitch and sports practices:
Both the footballer and the club have not yet commented on the situation, which was notoriously not of high seriousness. Meanwhile, Millonarios will be able to concentrate only on one competition for the remaining 10 dates of the 2022 opening championship in which he is tied at the top with Atlético Nacional, both teams with 23 units.
At the moment the blues beat the King of Copas by the goal difference criterion, which is +9 for Millonarios and +8 for Nacional, who has just beaten Jaguares de Córdoba 3-1 at home for the 11th date of the first division championship of the first half.
Thus, there is the question of whether Ricardo Luis Márquez will be taken into account by Alberto Gamero with Millonarios for the next duel against Once Caldas, since the ambassador team will not move from Bogotá and will play this Friday, March 18 against the Blanco Blanco of Manizales for the 11th date of the BetPlay I 2022 League in the Nemesio Camacho El Campin Stadium at 8:00 p.m.
