March is one of the months most awaited by some Mexicans, as it is well known that it is one of the seasons in which you can enjoy and take advantage of one of the few mega-bridges of the year that happens thanks to the commemoration of the birth of Benito Juárez.
One of the best alternatives to rest from the routine is to travel to seek some relaxation and rest, however, it is not always possible to visit other parts of the country due to the expenses that a trip involves. The good news is that you don't always need to have a lot of money to have a fun time outside the city.
If your bags are not ready yet because there is no weekend plan, run to pack because the magical town of Zacatlán de las Manzanas in the state of Puebla is home to several impressive places that offer activities for nature, culture and adventure lovers, and the best thing is that most are free.
It should only be considered that the place is 191.3 kilometers from CDMX, which implies a trip of approximately 3 hours. The advantage of going to a place that is not too far away is that the cost of the booths is not so high, in this case it is between 180 and 200 pesos.
If you decide to go to this charming destination, you should definitely visit the town center, where you can find establishments such as traditional bakeries, museums and the incredible Floral Clock, one of the largest treasures of the municipality, since it is a historical element that was donated by the company Relojes Centenario, the first factory of monumental clocks in Latin America.
It is said that this was one of the first to be manufactured in the world, since it was built in 1986. The clock has the peculiarity that at each time change nine different melodies are played, among which are: the Danzón Zacatlán, Sierra Poblana, Cielito lindo, the waltz On the Waves, Blanca Navidad, the Ave Maria and Mexico cute and dear.
It should be noted that the same company that was in charge of managing this artifact, was the same company that designed the floral clock of Parque Hundido in Mexico City. If you want to know more about this invention of the Industrial Revolution, you can visit the Clock Museum which is located a few blocks from the historic center of Zacatlán. It is another characteristic place in the region because the site has one of the oldest convents in Latin America. Work on the Old Franciscan Convent began in 1562 and ended in 1567, when Mexico was named New Spain.
This establishment was built before the Cathedral of Mexico and the Cathedral of Puebla, which gives it one of the most privileged places in the entire continent. If you want to know a little about the colonial past, this place is ideal.
Although it is important to mention that the foundations of the convent also hold part of the history of the pre-Hispanic peoples, since during its restoration in 2009, specialists found figures of jaguars, deer and indigenous and Spanish characters in the murals of this enclosure.

If you prefer to be surrounded by natural landscapes and enjoy outdoor adventures, then Tuliman Falls are perfect. Here you can find a waterfall divided into 3 different bodies of water that together add up to 300 meters high.
Another attraction is the famous Papalotl tree, which has a strange hole on one side 60 cm wide and 5 m high. The cavity is so large that up to 15 people can enter it.
You can walk around the place and you don't have to worry about the heat, because when you reach the top people can cool off with the breeze from the waterfall. In addition, you can enjoy a zip line, a suspension bridge, small isolated bodies of water, archery and cabins.
The cost of admission for adults is 100 pesos, 50 for adults with INAPAN credential and children between 5 and 10 years old. Children under 5 years old do not pay entrance fee.
The glass viewpoint is another of Zacatlán's must-see attractions, as here you can enjoy the stunning view of the Goldfinch Canyon. The site is very close to the center, so in just one trip you could visit all the attractions mentioned.
It is right behind the municipal pantheon and a few meters away is the Avioneta Pueblo Mágico Monument. One of the peculiarities offered by the viewpoint is that standing between the glass you can feel as if you were suspended in the air.
The wide view allows you to observe the Cola de Caballo waterfall, some large buildings and a couple of hotels. The most likely thing is that the fog also acts as its own and surrounds all the surroundings, which gives the feeling of being standing among clouds.
