In Mexico, there are people who have great fortunes. One of them is María Asunción Aramburuzabala, an entrepreneur who is considered the woman with the most money in the country.

Mariasun, as her friends know her, is the heir of Grupo Modelo, since her grandfather, a Spanish migrant, was the founder of the company, and later, her father took over. After the death of her father, in the 90s, due to severe cancer, she took over the company.

María Asunción Aramburuzabala, according to the latest listing by the American financial magazine Forbes, is in the top 10 of the people with the most money in Mexico, more specifically in the sixth position, behind only other tycoons such as Carlos Slim, Germán Larrea and Juan Francisco Beckmann Vidal.

Mariasun's fortune is valued, according to Forbes, at $5.63 billion. Although this represents a great fortune, compared to the richest woman in the whole world, it is little.

Françoise Bettencourt Meyer, a woman of French origin, is considered the wealthiest woman on the planet. She is the granddaughter of the founder of the L'Oreal brand, Eugene Schueller, and inherited the cosmetic empire that in 2017 was valued at USD 56.8 billion. However, her life has not been easy, as she had to fight a legal battle to become the heir, against her mother's best friend.

Bettencourt was born on July 10, 1953, so she is currently 68 years old. His grandfather, Eugene Schueller, was a pharmacist who invented a new hair dye formula in 1908, which he named L'Oreal. This product made him a millionaire.

Bettencourt Meyer's mother, Liliane, inherited Schueller's fortune in 1957 and became a prominent socialite. Father Françoise Bettencourt, André, was a senator and government minister. The Bettencourt family was known in French society for their exclusive parties, however, Françoise was never attracted to that lifestyle of his parents, and instead preferred to play the piano or write.

In addition, Bettencourt Meyers and her mother always had a complicated relationship, which fractured since she was a teenager. “Françoise was heavy and slow,” the mother once said. “He was always one step behind me.” Liliane, too, went so far as to say that her daughter was “a cold child”.

Bettencourt Meyers ranks 14th among the wealthiest people in the world. There is only one rung below a Mexican: Carlos Slim, the person with the most money in Mexico, who is ranked 13th, with a fortune of USD 80,500 million, according to the Forbes billionaires page in real time.

The Mexican businesswoman was born in 1963, so she is currently 58 years old. She currently serves as president of the private equity list Tresalia, and the real estate company Abilia.

Aramburuzabala graduated from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and in 1995 was in charge of the Vice President of Grupo Modelo y Corona. His grandfather, Felix Aramburuzabala, co-founded the company, after emigrating to Mexico during his youth.
