LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool expect their right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay off the court for at least two weeks with a hamstring injury, coach Jurgen Klopp said Friday.
The injury leaves Alexander-Arnold out of England's national team for friendly matches and raises doubts about his availability for Liverpool's visit to Manchester City on April 10. City maintain a one-point lead over Liverpool in the Premier League standings.
“I don't know any player in the world who plays like Trent, so it will be difficult to find a direct replacement,” Klopp said ahead of Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final match in Nottingham Forest.
James Milner and Conor Bradley are the potential replacements, as is central defender Joe Gomez.
Liverpool hosts Watford on April 2, and four days later they visit Benfica in the Champions League quarterfinals. Then he has the clash at Etihad Stadium.
Alexander-Arnold, 23, leads the Premier League with 11 passes on goal.
Klopp was not specific about the period when the winger would be out and when asked he only confirmed that it would be “weeks”.
Alexander-Arnold suffered the injury in a 2-0 win over Arsenal on Wednesday, though he played the entire game.
