One of the favorite rest destinations for most of the capital and Mexicans is Cuernavaca, since the journey from Mexico City is only one hour and 42 minutes and the fuel consumption to get there by car is minimal. In the capital of the state of Morelos, visitors can visit the Tepozteco hill, as well as enjoy the colonial center that houses the 16th century Palace of Cortés and the History Museum, in which there are murals by graphic artist Diego Rivera.
In order to reach this destination, motorists must pay a fee of 126 pesos in order to be able to use the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway. Although there is also the possibility of using the federal highway, getting to the center of Morelos will be much slower and motorists will have to navigate a route marked by a large number of curves.
Another of the busiest roads for the Chilangos during holidays or bridges is the Mexico-Puebla highway, east of CDMX. To reach destinations such as the Metropolitan Area of Puebla or Tlaxcala, 197 pesos will have to be paid and the journey takes less than two hours.
The toll cost for the Mexico-Querétaro highway is 198 pesos and the approximate distance is 213 kilometers, with an estimated travel time of two hours and 18 minutes. This option is ideal for those who wish to visit the colonial city of Querétaro, whose main tourist attraction is the Peña de Bernal monolith or the magical town of Malinalco, where visitors can visit its archaeological site or taste the delights of different producers of wine, charcuterie, ham and cheese.
Finally, to visit the center of Pachuca from CDMX, the approximate distance of the route is 97 kilometers, the estimated time of the journey is one hour and 15 minutes and you will cross the Ojo de Agua booth, whose cost as of February 16, 2022 is 62 pesos. In the center of the state of Hidalgo you can visit the Monumental Clock, the El Rehilete Museum or the Tuzooafari.
At the end of 2021, the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) launched a platform that allows motorists to trace a route and know the total expenditure they will make on the journey, and the cost of gasoline that will be consumed can also be calculated.
To do so, you can go to the following website: http://app.sct.gob.mx/sibuac_internet/ControllerUI?action=cmdEscogeRuta and select the city of origin and destination, as well as the vehicle with which you will make the motorways, i.e. , if you will be traveling by car, motorcycle, van or truck.
You can also choose between calculating only the booths or the petrol. If only the second option is chosen, data such as the size of the vehicle, the estimated performance of litres per kilometre, the displacement in cubic centimetres and the type of fuel used should be added.
