G7 meeting on Ukraine on Thursday in Brussels

A G7 meeting, focused on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, will take place next Thursday in Brussels, coinciding with the NATO and European Union (EU) summits, the German government announced Friday.

The meeting will be dedicated “especially to the situation in Ukraine” and will be “integrated” with the NATO and EU summits, which will be held in the Belgian capital that same day, German government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann announced at a press conference.

This year Germany chairs the G7, which brings together the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Italy.

On the same day, NATO organizes an extraordinary summit focusing on the war in Ukraine, in which US President Joe Biden will participate, who will travel to Brussels.

A meeting of the heads of state and government of the EU will also take place on the same day, in the presence of the US president.
