Barranquilla Junior will be the second Colombian club in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana

The 'shark' team defeated 3-1 in the return to Equidad and won the definition by penalties, leaving the insurance team without international competition

The qualifying phase of the 2022 Copa Conmebol Sudamericana for Colombia ended on the night of this Thursday, March 17 with the confrontation between Junior from Barranquilla and La Equidad.

The duel between the Atlantic and Bogotá squad sealed the series in the return key in Barranquilla that defined the second Colombian club installed directly in the group stage of the second most important continental tournament organized by Conmebol.

At minute 2, the first danger approaches of the match were recorded in favor of Junior. For stages of the match it became difficult to transport the ball due to the rain that invaded the grass of the barranquillero stadium from puddles.

The match lost the fast pace it had in the first half and the fouls and melee demands of the footballers became noticeable in the complement.

Thus, in the 65th minute, the Colombian team striker, Miguel Ángel Borja, had to leave the field due to physical discomfort in his right thigh that prevented him from continuing the final 25 minutes. 200,000 dollars will receive Junior from Barranquilla for his qualification to the group stage of the Copa Conmebol Sudamericana after eliminating La Equidad with a 3-1 victory in the final scoreboard.
