The legislative elections are currently experiencing a high point with the counting of votes after last Sunday's pre-count and the “recovery of them” for some parties. Members of parties such as the Green, Historical Pact and Fuerza Ciudadana, among others, have set out to follow up on tables where they had allegedly not been given any votes, following allegations of massive failures in the pre-counting work of the table juries.
Angelica Lozano had said last Wednesday that in a short time they found around 34,000 votes that in the first instance had not added to their party. Now, the wife of Bogotá Mayor Claudia López, says that they have managed to recover at least one additional seat for the Green Alliance in the House for Bogotá, which would be one of the biggest beneficiaries by the time the ballot is definitively closed.
However, according to the national registrar, Alexander Vega, “no one can talk about recovering votes, we have to wait for scrutiny.” These results would be announced this Friday by the Registrar's Office, as its director commented at a press conference.
He also stated that there would be a wave of misinformation on social networks about what happens with the votes:
Another party that was able to find votes that had not been officially counted on Sunday after the elections was the Historical Pact, led by presidential candidate Gustavo Petro. In that political movement they have said that there are more than 400,000 votes that would be added in their favor when the counting ends.
Even so, they have also said that it is necessary to look in more regions where, moreover, in the words of their members, no vote in favour has appeared for them.
Thus, the Green Alliance would have 4 more seats in the House of Representatives taking into account the numbers shown in the vote count, which would be added to the 25 seats, 14 in the Senate and 11 in the House, which they already had in a preliminary manner, according to the data that can be seen on the National Registry page.
While their counterparts of the Historical Pact would have the same number of seats “recovered” for the congress.
Other political movements such as Citizen Force, the New Liberalism and Estamos Listas would be waiting for the final vote to reach them in order to position one of their members in order to be part of the congress for the coming years.
As already said this Friday, the official results will be given on legislative votes and interparty consultations, where it will be possible to really know how the Senate and the House of Representatives will be structured, which will be positioned next July 20. In the same way, the number of votes drawn by the candidates for the presidential consultations will be official.
