In recent hours, the Abura Valley Metropolitan Area (Amva) has reported the discovery and rescue of a young coletrapo armadillo, which is not common in urban settings in the urban area of Medellín.
Armadillo Cabasus Centralis was discovered in a house near Olaya Herrera (Olaya Herrera) in Medellín by a wildlife emergency department in the Abura Valley metropolitan area, thanks to a report from the owner of the house that appeared after a heavy rain.
Juvenile coletrapo armadillo was evaluated in the field and proved to be stable, but with minor injuries to the legs and tail, they were transferred to the Wildlife Management and Evaluation Center for relevant veterinary treatment for subsequent release.
According to the authorities, armadillo is a common animal in various areas of Antioquia, especially in places such as San Cristobal, San Antonio de Prado, Santa Elena (Medellin), the municipalities of Barbosa and Sabaneta and some hills in the city.
According to the Red Book on Mammals published in 2004, the biologist Laura Suárez Escudero, of the Interadministrative Agreement between the Abura Valley Metropolitan Area and the University of CES, assured that this wild species is in danger of extinction due to the same deformation of the soil. The use of insecticide products restricts food based on arthropod colonies in underground places.
Suárez Escudero also explained that it is rare to witness this object in a place of residence or in an urban area. In general, this is because these animals not only eat arthropods such as ants, termites and larvae, but also because of the same habits they live in solitary, nocturnal and underground places.
“This is a choletrapo armadillo, especially one of the smallest armadillos in Colombia. Like others, it is called choletrapo because it does not have scales on its tail. In addition, this individual is a little more blunt than other individuals, and its coloring is dull. The animal is stable despite some lacerations after being rescued.” “, said the biologist.
While the rehabilitation of armadillos was progressing and a little larger in size, experts from the Wildlife Management and Evaluation Center in the metropolitan area of the Aburrá Valley decided that the ideal was to apply a strict diet based on supplements and insect porridge before it was released as a natural habitat.
According to the Wildlife Conservation and Evaluation Center, the sighting and rescue of this armadillo will be the first in 2022. Similarly, over the past year, at least 5 armadillos have been treated here for various cases.
Medellin encourages masturbation and starts a campaign with young people
The Youth Secretariat of Medellín, the capital of the Antioquia department, launched an unusual sexual and reproductive health campaign.
In the message, masturbation is presented as a natural and beneficial action for health. The slogan of the public message says “Make love to yourself because you are in a bad mood”, showing a pair of open legs with one hand in the middle. “Masturbation makes you feel better. Enjoy this sexual act in privacy”
On social media where the message was shared, he says:
Did you know that masturbation is a source of mental and emotional health? Orgasm releases endorphins, serotonin, oxytocin. The hormone of happiness can make a bad day unforgettable ️ Dedicate this intimate moment to yourself! #HazteElAmor
Along with the publication on social networks, the group published a dissemination message with references to classical human science literature and scientific articles, within which a brief historical context is given for the study of masturbation in nature and human history.
They then explain the physical and psychological effects that make this activity an “essential and healthy practice”. They also point out that although masturbation is present in some unhealthy deviations, the problem lies more in obsessive tendencies than in masturbation itself.
