What happened on suspicion of kidnapping a 5-year-old boy in Tranmilenio

The unrest in Bogotá was one of the biggest concerns of the current mayor's office led by Claudia López. Due to the increase in theft and murder cases, negative perceptions of the capital have skyrocketed. One of the most popular causes of complaints is the social networks that users circulate, which in many cases have a positive effect.

In this case, the case that clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the network denouncing the disappearance became a trend because it was shared by actress Luces Velásquez, the performer of 'Café with the Scent of Women' on March 16. Despite the fact that Velásquez was not related to this case, he decided to inform the situation of a minor under 5 years of age who was allegedly kidnapped, and some subjects robbed his mother in Transmilenio.

“I don't know a child, but I imagine how a mother feels. When they see it, there is a phone and there is a phone to share”, the writer wrote with relevant data regarding the image and age of the minor, the time of his disappearance and the station in which the incident occurred.

A few hours later, it was reported on the network that two women were arrested on suspicion of crimes on the Usme portal after security cameras provided clues and pointed out that they were responsible for taking the child, according to RCN Radio.

However, despite the fact that this incident seemed to be of great relevance, the Bogota Metropolitan Police did not speak: when seeking answers from the authorities, the station caused a great surprise. An official complaint about the case of a child under 5 years of age has been filed with the station or the CAI. And when it became known that this was spreading on social networks, the agent confirmed that the minor was not missing and that he was sharing it with his grandmother. In addition, although family members shared false information, they could not determine why they shared this type of false news.

It should be remembered that citizens are constantly on alert, because they do not feel safe in the capital. According to the most recent Survey on Perception and Sacrifice of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EPV), which revealed data for 2021, it increased by 5 percentage points for citizens who are victims of crimes, from 15% in 2019 to 20% in 2021. With 123, the number of calls increased in ratings between poor and very poor, which increased from 36% in 2019 to 43% in 2021. The police service rating was also excellent and good, from 32% in 2019 to 30% in 2021.

In addition, Bogotá has experienced the highest perception of anxiety in recent years, reaching 88%. In 2019, 44% of citizens considered their neighbors safe, and in 2021 the neighborhood decreased, staying at 30%.
