Weather in Mexico for March 17: the 37th cold front will enter the national territory

A drop in temperature and strong gusts of wind will be some of the effects of the new cold front

The National Meteorological System is predicted to have low temperatures in the north and northeast of the country due to the presence of a new cold front, number 37. In addition, along with a polar trough and the polar jet stream, they are expected to cause gusts of winds that will go from strong to very strong, as well as the presence of hoppers.

Generally speaking, the atmosphere in the morning will be cold to very cold, while for the afternoon it is expected to be warm to hot. In states such as Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas and the Yucatan Peninsula, the ingress of moisture from the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea will cause rains and showers that will be accompanied by electric shocks.

Mexico will record minimum temperatures of up to -10º C in mountainous areas of Chihuahua and Durango, and up to -5º C in Sonora and Zacatecas and highlands of the State of Mexico. In contrast, the highs will go up to 40°C in Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, Chiapas, Tamaulipas, Campeche and Yucatan.

Valley of Mexico: Cool to Cold Morning Environment. Very cold temperatures with possible frosts at dawn in high areas of the State of Mexico. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance of evening showers (5 to 25 mm), which could be accompanied by electric shocks and possible hail falls in Mexico City and the State of Mexico. Temperate to warm atmosphere in the afternoon.

In Mexico City, a minimum temperature of 11 to 13° C and a maximum of 25 to 27° C are forecast. For the capital of the State of Mexico, a minimum temperature of 5 to 7° C and a maximum of 22 to 24° C.

Baja California Peninsula: Sky with scattered clouds, no rain in the region. Cool morning atmosphere. Cold temperatures with frost at dawn in mountain areas of Baja California. In the afternoon, warm to warm atmosphere.

North Pacific: Clear skies and no rain in the region. Cold to very cold morning environment. Frost at dawn in the mountains of Sonora. In the afternoon, warm to warm atmosphere.

Central Pacific: Clear sky in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with a probability of isolated showers with electric shocks in areas of Michoacan. No rain in the rest of the region. Cool morning atmosphere. Cold temperatures in the mountains of Michoacán, accompanied by frosts at dawn in high areas of Jalisco. Warm atmosphere in the afternoon. Hot afternoon temperatures in southeastern Jalisco and southern Michoacan.

South Pacific: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with showers accompanied by electric shocks in Oaxaca and Chiapas, as well as isolated rains in Guerrero. Cool to cold morning atmosphere with fog banks in the mountains of Oaxaca and Chiapas. Warm atmosphere in the afternoon. Hot afternoon temperatures in areas of Guerrero.

Gulf of Mexico: Cloudy sky with a chance of showers in Veracruz. Clear to partly cloudy skies with no rain in Tamaulipas and Tabasco. Cool to temperate morning atmosphere. Fog banks at dawn in high areas of southern Tamaulipas, north and south of Veracruz. Warm atmosphere in the afternoon. Hot afternoon temperatures in areas of Tamaulipas.

Yucatan Peninsula: Partly cloudy sky with isolated rains in Yucatan and Quintana Roo, no rain in Campeche. Warm atmosphere in the afternoon. Hot afternoon temperatures in areas of Campeche and Yucatan.

Mesa del Norte: Clear morning sky and partly cloudy in the afternoon, no rain. Cold to very cold morning environment. Frosts at dawn in the mountains of Zacatecas and Aguascalientes, accompanied by freezing temperatures in the Chihuahua and Durango mountains. Temperate to warm atmosphere in the afternoon. Hot afternoon temperatures in Nuevo León and eastern San Luis Potosí.

Mesa Central: Mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance of showers in Puebla, as well as isolated rains in Hidalgo, Morelos and Tlaxcala, which could be accompanied by electric shocks. Cool morning atmosphere. Cold temperatures at dawn in high areas of Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Puebla and Tlaxcala. Temperate to warm atmosphere in the afternoon.
