This will be WrestleQuest, the new game with legends of wrestling

The title was presented during the ID @Xbox Showcase conference

Yesterday, the ID @Xbox Showcase event was held, which presented a wide variety of titles by independent studios that are coming to Xbox and, in some cases, that will also be added to the Xbox Game Pass catalog. One of the video games that were revealed was WrestleQuest, a new RPG proposal.

The title, by Mega Cat Studios and Skybound Games, will feature a list of wrestling legends, such as Randy Savage and Jeff Jarrett. Players are going to have to take on the role of a new promise of that discipline, “in their quest to become one of the best of all time while performing powerbombs, slams and suplexes to reach the top”.

Users will come across a turn-based combat proposal, which will combine - according to what they explained - real-time action and tactical options. To that will be added a narrative that is presented as “fantastic and detailed”, in which the protagonist will seek to go from a novice to a wrestling star.

In addition, during the development of the story, players will be able to interact with different legends of that sport - which will also help him in his goal - that they already anticipated: “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Booker T, Andre The Giant, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, Jeff Jarrett, among others.

WrestleQuest will have pixel-art style graphics and they explained that with the visual proposal they tried to mix elements of wrestling, toys and action figures. They also announced that it will contain a lot of side missions and extra content to complement the main story.

“WrestleQuest captures the spirit and passion of wrestling, through an unforgettable RPG experience. Many of the members of the Mega Cat team grew up watching wrestling and this one occupies an undeniable nostalgic place for us. This game is a celebration of that world, complemented by authorized special appearances by some of our favorite fighters from the 80s, 90s and today,” said James Deighan, founder of Mega Cat Studios.

Although no definitive date was revealed, the game is expected to be released this year and will hit Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
