Terror broke out again in Mazamitla, Jalisco, after several accounts reported clashes between armed men on social networks. Faced with the alarm situation, the authorities went to the municipality, but denied that there were any violent acts.
On Wednesday afternoon, several Twitter accounts reported on shootings in this area south of Jalisco, where drug blockades and shootings took place just a few weeks ago.
The authorities asked the neighbors to remain calm and not approach the road that goes to Tamazula. For a few days now, the municipalities bordering Michoacán (in central western Mexico) have been hit by organized crime.
Just last March 11, several criminal acts were reported. The first events took place in the municipality of Jocotepec (Jalisco) where two elements were killed. According to official information, the uniformed men were shot and attacked for no apparent reason. The governor of the state, Enrique Alfaro, has detailed that the murderers fled to the neighboring entity of Michoacán.
Around 23:00 hours, in Tamazula, two cargo vehicles were set on fire at the height of the federal highway Jiquilpan-Manzanillo, on the stretch from Mazamitla to Tamazula.Inside the units the drivers were not found.

On social networks, residents of the communities of Contla, El Veladero and La Cabecera de Tamazula reported several clashes. For these events, the Tamazula city council wrote on Twitter: “As a result of the recent events of violence in communities surrounding the Municipality of Tamazula, from this moment on all government work and school work is suspended until further notice.” However, minutes later the post was deleted and the authorities asked to continue as normal.
The state president spread a video on his social networks in which he specified that there is no risk, “We have to move on, we cannot fall into panic and fear, based on information that is not always accurate and that seems to be spreading to cause alarm among the population,” he specified.

The state of Michoacán (in central western Mexico) is going through moments of panic following the emergence of criminal groups and the murder of two officials: the mayor of Aguililla, César Valencia and his adviser, René Cervantes Gaytán, on Thursday afternoon.
Just a few hours apart, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Michoacán reported on the lifeless finding of both politicians.
César Valencia had barely been in office six months. Aspirant of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) dealt with the dispute faced by the United Cartels and Jalisco Nueva Generación.
