Mary Anne Andrea Perdomo Gutierrez is 35 years old. He was born in Piedecuesta, Santander. She is a mother, graduated in pedagogy and works as a teacher. In recent years she has dedicated herself to working with children through different social strengthening initiatives. From a young age, he was clear that politics was the way to change injustices. That is what can be easily found about who this woman is, however, there is a lot of secrecy around her figure.
She was the only candidate who did not want to relinquish the Historic Pact list last December when the aspirants of petrianism made an agreement with the Green Alliance to unify lists. The decision has been discussed, as there is suspicion of unscrupulous handling by some sectors of Humana Colombia and, especially, by Perdomo herself, among which there would be hidden interests on the part of Uribism.
In recent days, Julio Acela, a political analyst, explained that the party had, in fact, agreed to the alliance, but that only one person had refused. She was “lost” for more than 15 days, said Carlos Toledo, a former candidate for mayoral office of Bucaramanga, and said she worried the members of Colombia Humana because they were unaware of their interests in staying on the list.
According to Acela, the decision behind “knocking down” the Historical Pact list is something that became very well known in recent days at the national level and even Gustavo Petro was aware of. He also insisted on not voting for the Historical Pact in Santander but for Alianza Verde, where several of the candidates supporting him would be. The fact is that the fact that the teacher did not resign allowed the Historical Pact to appear on the closed consultation card, beyond the fact that in February an attempt was made to make it not visible through the imposition of a legal figure. The petition was not accepted and the educator's application was maintained. In the end he ended up taking the place in the House of Representatives for Santander.
The newly elected congressman spoke about what Toledo said and the rumors about her continued absences. “In the week of December 17, when they say I got lost, we had the National Assembly of Humana Colombia and I was delegated to run for the General Secretariat. It's totally fictitious that I'm lost. We were working,” she said, noting that her commitment to Santander is in effect and nothing disables her from continuing.
Perdomo presents a proposal that covers non-fracking, education and the importance of quality health, among other issues. It has the support of different entrepreneurs in the region who see in it the chance to change many things. One of its main interests in supporting it lies in strengthening transport in all its forms and the use of raw materials to boost the economy. However, there is a lot of discomfort in Santander, on the part of citizens, as they give Perdomo a lively attitude, arguing that he got the party logo solely to make a profit in the name of personal interests. In addition, an image is circulating on networks in which it is intended to clarify several rumors about the teacher's campaign to take the place of congressman. Apparently, sabotage would be in the hands of Uribism, he says. The image even exposes that the known photograph of women does not correspond to what it looks like today.
“Santander's new muff”, that's what they call it on social networks, comparing it to Senator Jonathan Tamayo. According to what is said, his election does not represent at all the spirit of the Historical Covenant, which seeks, among other things, to represent the causes of those who need it most. Beyond the doubts, without so much hype or a consolidated team, the new congresswoman intends to make her work and that of her party visible, and guarantee the citizens of Santander their commitment.
