*SILVER COINS

The first three commemorative pieces of 10 pesos and mirror finish, were minted in silver (.925 Sterling).

First copy

The reverse of the coin of the “700th anniversary of the lunar foundation of Mexico City-Tenochtitlan” bears in the central part the eagle on the prickly pear, the axis of plate I of the Mendocino Codex. At the top the legend “700 years of the lunar foundation of Mexico City-Tenochtitlan”.

Second copy

While the second silver specimen, was created for the “500 years of the historical memory of Mexico Tenochtitlan”. It shows in front and slightly out of phase to the right the Templo Mayor. In the background the Plaza de la Constitución with the National Flag, the National Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral and Tabernacle. First copy

First of all it must be remembered that the 3 pieces of 20 weights are dodecagonal, that is, 12 sides.

From oldest to youngest, we will first present the characteristics of the commemorative coin that was created for the 700th anniversary of the lunar foundation of Mexico City-Tenochtitlan.

Its central part is composed of 65% copper; 10% nickel, and 25% zinc. While its perimeter ring: bronze-aluminum alloy. Contains: 92% copper; 6% aluminum, and 2% nickel. It also has a diameter of 30 mm and a weight of 12.67 grams.

The reverse shows the effigy (image) of an eagle from the “Teocalli of the Sacred War” in the center, and on it, the microtext “Teocalli”. On the right is the glyph of the moon as a latent image. On the upper edge, the legend “700 years since the lunar foundation of Mexico City-Tenochtitlan”, as well as the denomination “$20″ in the exergum, to the right of it, the year “2021″, and on the left, the mint of the Mexican Mint “M°”.

While on its obverse it bears the typical National Coat of Arms in sculptural relief and the legend “United Mexican States”.

This coin is offered up to 165 thousand pesos, according to a user who sells it at that exorbitant cost by the Mercado Libre site.

Second copy

In second position is the piece minted in honor of the 500 years of historical memory of Mexico-Tenochtitlan. Its content is also copper, nickel, zinc, aluminum and nickel, in addition to the fact that it has 12 sides.

On its back, the Metropolitan Cathedral is visualized forming a reflection, the Templo Mayor and the denomination “$20″. While on its obverse it shows the typical National Coat of Arms.

The currency is quoted at higher prices than was offered a few days ago, since to date it is on the same trading platform at a price of up to 90 thousand pesos.

Third copy

Finally, in third place is the copy created by the Bicentennial of the National Independence of Mexico. It has a diameter of 30 mm and a weight of 12.67 grams.

It was put into circulation, along with the silver and nominal value copies of 10 pesos, on September 27, 2021.

On its back, the effigies of Miguel Hidalgo, José María Morelos and Vicente Guerrero were depicted in profile to the left. In the upper part, the Angel of Independence is seen as a latent image, and on the left, the micro text “Freedom”. In the exergo, the denomination “$20″ with the years “1821″ on the left and “2021″ on the right. On the left, the mint of the Mexican Mint “M°”.

On the obverse it also carries the eagle devouring a snake. This copy is priced at up to 88 thousand pesos, according to a person who bragged it for the same place.
