Supersalud gives EPS SOS members peace of mind: it will not be liquidated

The general manager of the entity Javier Correa came out to respond to users and ensure that they continued to provide the service in the more than 600 Health Care Providing Institutions

Medimás was recently liquidated by the Superintendency of Health, after having found irregularities and deficiencies in the administrative and financial components of its operation. The report of the Colombian Association of State Social Enterprises and Public Hospitals Acesi, highlights these inconsistencies and has set alarm bells in the different companies responsible for providing the health service.

Due to complaints filed by users, legal and financial inconveniences, the EPS Western Health Service (S.O.S) is being monitored, but the general manager of the entity Javier Correa came out to respond to users and ensure that they continued to provide the service in the more than 600 Health Providing Institutions, in the departments of Quindío, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca.

Javier Correa indicated that he has improved quality standards as requested by the National Superintendency of Health, as well as commenting that within the institution's strengthening plan is the capitalization of resources and the improvement in user care.

Regarding this situation, Manager Correa indicated that a capitalization of 306 billion pesos has been made: “Out of that amount that we have capitalized in the last four years, there are capitalizations in the new strengthening plan that was filed in December, which is in the order of 500 billion.”

Another thing that highlighted was the incursion into the ranking of the Ministry of Health that brings together the WPS that have provided a satisfactory service to the user, there is the EPS Western Health Service (SOS) in third position in the measurement for the month of January.

Therefore, he cleared any doubts from users of any kind of settlement: “We give our entire population peace of mind that they can rely on continuity of service. We are increasingly improving the indicators that are required of us, so they can trust that we will continue to provide services in the best way,” said the general manager of the entity Javier Correa.

On March 8, the National Superintendency of Health announced the liquidation of EPS Medimás, after nine extensions that sought to get the entity out of its financial problems. For this reason, 1.5 million Colombian members will be transferred to other health entities starting next Thursday, March 17. For that reason, here's how to find out what your new EPS is.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 14 EPS located in 15 departments of the country will receive Medimás users, in order to ensure the continuity of treatment for each one.

“Fourteen insurers receive these users in 15 departments of the country, giving priority to the fundamental right to health of Colombians, guaranteeing the quality, opportunity, continuity and health care of members and their families,” explained the director of assurance of the Ministry of Health, Iván Mesa.

According to the official, while the liquidation measure of the EPS Medimás is being implemented, it will be obliged to continue providing medical care, appointments with specialists, treatments and so on, until next Wednesday, March 16.

By Thursday, March 17, all these health services must be guaranteed by the 14 EPSs receiving Medimás users.
