Former Senate Candidate Gilberto Tobón Uribe expressed his concern about the situation presented in the vote count and made a delicate statement regarding the current presidential candidate Gustavo Petro Urrego, because according to Antioquia, there is an agreed plan to steal the elections from the leader of the Historical Pact, he said that this warning must be taken into account for the present and future, and he also predicted what Petro's task should be in the first presidential round.
In an interview with W Radio, Professor Paisa pointed out that he didn't expect much from Colombia, because according to him, the country was a narco-state, he added that the bourgeoisie was able to assume any consequences by stealing the elections, Tobón stressed: “I have never expected anything more from a state that is collapsed and what is a narco-state, I'm sure that's the case. But I am going to say one thing: I warn the country and the world they want to steal Petro's elections and everyone has it calculated, and since it is a fierce and violent bourgeoisie that of Colombia, the most violent in Latin America, is capable of doing and submitting to whatever happens, but they want to do it, they want to steal the elections that is why Gustavo Petro has to win in the first round, record this and keep it there, which may serve as historical testimony to you.”
To this, he added his criticism against the registry and especially to Registrar Alexander Vega, who had already met with Tobón and several representatives of the Fuerza Ciudadana party to give him some peace of mind before the elections, however, those promises were false according to the former candidate, considering that the threshold it was not enough for him, although Vega had said that it would have been almost 650,000 votes, and he would have indicated that abstentionism would fall in the country.
To understand Gilberto Tobón's statement, it is important to bear in mind that the threshold for congress in Colombia is 3%, that is, this percentage of votes must be reached, compared to the total recorded for legislative votes. Although Tobón Sanín had the fifth best vote in the country, his party's threshold was 2.70%, while the Colombia Justa Libres y Mira coalition reached 3.63%.
The politician from Fuerza Ciudadana took advantage of his space to point out that registrar Alexander Vega should be in jail, and even stated that Vega was put in charge, because he would not have even passed the exams, Tobón said: “That Mr. Alex Vega should be in prison on trial if this were a decent country with dignity, he is a cynical, he is a scoundrel, he should be prosecuted, he is robbing the elections, he has stolen several seats from the Historical Pact, he brazenly stole our seats from us, he is a cynic we had a meeting with three characters from the Citizen Force, he is the typical bureaucrat, the most hypocritical that I have ever known in my life”.
Attorney Paisa, pointed out that the registry office was full of corrupt people, stressing that he had a hypothesis of how the alleged fraud had been handled at the ballot box, Tobón said: “What I am absolutely sure and you have been finding is that there were tables where the juries did not even sign the minutes, I have this hypothesis; they looked at the minutes and they saw that the groups that had hired and paid them through the registry office were not winning, so they said: no, this man is only with 20 votes and the others are winning, let's not sign, they could do this to cancel the record, it is total corruption”.
