The absence of more women on the company's board of directors is the tip of the iceberg of a huge and urgent task. Accelerating digital transformation requires women who are passionate about technology in all areas of the organization.

Deloitte Global's recent study on gender diversity, “Women On Board: A Global Perspective,” found that women represent only 19.7% of board positions worldwide, an increase of 2.8% from the 2019 edition. The report covers 72 countries in 8 key regions of the world (North America, Latin and South America, Caribbean, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Australasia). Although there is improvement (more than 10% of women on the board)) Progress is slow. At this rate we will achieve parity in 2041, that is, 20 years from now.

Below the surface, the ice mass shows a tremendous need and a great opportunity, the need for which was recognized by the OECD's December 2021 Economic Outlook. After the pandemic, the world continues to recover, and recent improvements are hiding structural changes, which means that some sectors, jobs, technologies and behaviors will not return to pre-pandemic trends. Now is the time to ensure comprehensive digital transformation through coordinated and inclusive strategies that build resilience and bridge the digital divide. The opportunity is very clear. We women need to lead this change.

To do that, we need to reinvent women's employment. If the pandemic has caused a major crisis in the world of work, reconstruction can set the stage for new opportunities to help support, improve, and increase women's labor market integration.

This work is particularly relevant when looking at the challenges of technological innovation going on across all industries and services today. The expansion of the digital economy can have a huge impact on job opportunities. The need for digital technologies connected to the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics can multiply. As the ECLAC points out, this requires capacity for the development, implementation and intensive use of technology, and opens up new job opportunities for women. In addition, tasks that require less routine work, provide some flexibility (such as remote work) and should be related to a better salary.

Due to the pandemic, all organizations have reinvented themselves, rethought their business, and redefined the way they engage with their audiences.Today, Globant is accompanying many organizations in this process. The key is to focus on diversity and inclusion in the long term to stay relevant to the business. Audiences, customers, and users demand more from the organization than ever before, and require responsibility as an agent to positively impact society.

To address these challenges, Globant has developed a number of initiatives with the precise goal of 50% of women's leadership by 2025. And we do so by accompanying them on their professional journeys. First of all, we remove prejudice from job search for human resources with the help of artificial intelligence. Then, we activate various programs that encourage high performance and Glover to accelerate women's development, such as She Leads, who receive special training and mentoring from senior management.

Other programs work to strengthen women's leadership at various levels, both inside and outside Globant.Support skilled technicians who are currently on a career break and want to resume their technological journey, such as Empower Her or Back in the Game, which empowers young women with vulnerable backgrounds in India.

We believe in the need to promote gender equality globally, across the entire ecosystem. That's why we build strong relationships with more than 35 tech communities around the world to provide events and trainings that foster a more comprehensive view of IT enterprises. We partner with Her Code Angular, More Women in UX, PyLadies, Django Girls, Women's Hoocode, Women's Tech Makers, Media Girls, Cloud Girls, Geek Girls Latam, etc. We also provide training and training for women in technology and leadership to Argentina Engineering We work with organizations focused on gender balance, such as Women, WIT Peru, Adalab, Womenalia, Girls in Tech and Wids. Our world needs to move towards greater diversity and integration, and each of us and each organization can be an obstacle and, conversely, a catalyst in this process.

The faster the future reaches more people, the sooner a new female leader is needed to accelerate digital transformation.

Diversity is at the heart of our business and technology forces us to innovate all the time, so there is no way to innovate if we do not connect other perspectives unless we add different perspectives to develop better solutions. And in addition to what happens at Globalt, we want to challenge the status quo in the sector, starting with education.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, only 3 out of 10 workers engaged in hard science activities are women.

It is important for organizations to understand that we play a leading role in closing the gap and accompanying the growth of people within the company.

We believe that the private sector, the public sector, academia, civil society organizations, etc. must work together to foster talent and create inclusion tools to ensure employability for more women in the tech world.
