The murder of Fabian Pérez Hooker (Fabian Pérez Hooker), known as “Heti” on San Andres Island, shocked much of the community that occupies the vicinity of the governor, the airport and plays various seats at the hotspots of this city, and finally announced their presence on the pier of the island.

According to Caracol Radio, Colonel Maria Gomez, commander of the San Andres police, said that the murder of Fabian Perez had become an isolated case given that the attack was not against him, but that he was trying to end the life of “Pitopius” for the interests of the household through the prison and at the time of the attack he seems to have violated this measure.

According to Indepaz, 'Hety' shared with several people in her home, where criminals arrived and were shot twice without saying a word, which became an act of deep suffering for the islanders. Through his music, he emphasized artistic expression and stood out as a cultural ambassador. With his companion “Jambo”, Raizal traveled different stages with indigenous music from the region.

In 2018, the Office of the Ombudsman issued a structural early warning 046-18, which highlighted a serious danger due to the presence of illegal armed groups trying to exercise territorial control over the entire archipelago. In this case, the river area of the island has been used to refer to the routes of the trafficking of oceanic weapons, money, smuggling and drugs that directly affect the Raizal community, social leaders and the community as a whole. The Ombudsman's office was able to confirm that factors of forced migration and murder prevail on the island.

The director of Óscar Gómez Heredia has arrived on the scene to take charge of the arrest of criminals already identified, according to the government of the archipelago. This situation has also embarrassed residents, given that, despite this announcement by the governor, more than 72 hours have passed and no diligence corresponds to the situation. Gómez Heredia promised the community that he would not leave the island until he found the whereabouts of the criminals and reached the island.

Pastor Augusto Francis regretted what happened and pointed out that the crisis in the city is getting worse due to the considerable amount of weapons in San Andrés: “There are a lot of weapons on the streets; part of the territory that we have, there are too many weapons on the streets, we know that they do not enter through the street. 39; airport, here's the sea; there's a coast guard, there's an army here, there's a battalion, there's a police, a prosecutor's office, but the island's full of weapons.”

Relatives of the victims and citizens of San Andres reminded General Gomez that when two police officers died in that city in October last year, there was compensation and the operation was successful, therefore they demanded that the process be conducted in the same way, taking into account the importance of islanders' social leaders in this case.

Pastor Francis pointed out that General Gomez had already made an appointment last year, saying that the same authorities ratified the criminals they criticized, “I don't know if it was you who arrived when the two cops were murdered. Currently, at that time, we were going to enter all neighborhoods to capture and dismantle drug trafficking, microtrafficking, all the weapons, all the criminal gangs that exist in San Andrés. Our territory is so small that we cannot prove ourselves responsible or guilty; fail intelligently”.
