Among the list of Colombians who were victims of irregularities during the legislative elections is former foreign minister Maria Angela Holguín. The diplomat can hardly exercise her right because when she approached her polling station, the juries indicated that she appeared as if she had already voted. The complaint was made by the presidential candidate of the Centro Esperanza Coalition, Sergio Fajardo, who is Holguín's current romantic partner.

The center candidate said that when Holguín approached the polling station and the juries showed him that his card was crossed out, as if he had already voted. There was even a print that supposedly corresponded to the owner of the card. Given this, Holguín demonstrated that he had just arrived at the post and reported the case to the Registrar's Office.

After a while, and under the condition of signing documents stating that the former chancellor had not voted, she was able to exercise her right.

Fajardo called the situation rare and assured that he has already asked for an investigation. The candidate assured that cases such as these cannot continue to be presented in the next two election days that will be held in the year.

On election day on March 13, hundreds of irregularities occurred, as can be seen from reports received through the Immediate Reception Unit for Electoral Transparency (Uriel). The Attorney General's Office was notified of 131 reports of possible electoral crimes filed on the platform. It should be noted that this was notified in the national territory, since in the elections abroad, the Prosecutor's Office also learned about 62 complaints, which will be evaluated to establish whether there is merit to open a formal case.

It was reported that on Sunday the National Police captured 26 people who had reportedly committed electoral crimes. Most of those arrested committed corruption to the suffragant, personal falsehood, disturbance to the democratic contest and fraudulent voting.

One of the biggest inconsistencies was reported by the Historical Pact. The coalition has carried out a very strict oversight process and in this one they have found more than 486,000 that had not been counted.

In this particular case, the national registrar, Alexander Vega, indicated that, for the time being, there can be no talk of fraud until the results have been recorded. He pointed out that the results that have been published so far are merely informative.

“So far the votes are being counted, that's why it's misinformation. It cannot be said that the votes do not appear until the counting is over. That is why we uploaded, as a measure of transparency, all the minutes, of all the tables,” said the national registrar in dialogue with the newspaper El Tiempo.
