Luis Díaz and his first criticism since arriving in Liverpool, the English press did not spare him for his match against Arsenal

The Premier League is increasingly close. Liverpool's victory over Arsenal allowed Jürgen Klopp's team to get closer to Manchester City and now they are only one point apart, something that until a few weeks ago was unthinkable due to the advantage that Guardiola's team were getting in the standings. However, one of those singled out in the match against the 'Gunners', despite the victory, was the Colombian Luis Díaz.

The Colombian winger had, perhaps, his first low-key match since his arrival in Anfield. Diaz had left great performances on the field in the eleven games he has played since he was signed on the winter market. Against Arsenal the Colombian did not shine, it was difficult for him to generate offensive play and had to be replaced at 56′ by Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian's entry changed the face of the team who ended up taking the three points with the scores of Roberto Fiirmino and Diogo Jota. The Colombian, for his part, without shining and without standing out, had a hard time beating the Portuguese Cédric Soares. Diaz received the first criticism and was Liverpool's lowest rated in the match.

The former Porto player received several low ratings from experts, journalists and football portals. The Sofascore portal gave it a score of 6.7, while BeSoccer gave it a score of 6.5.

Liverpool Echo rated it 6 and assured, “It started on the left and changed to the right without too much reward, despite some flashes.” This is Anfield rated it with a 7 and assured that the Colombian, “did not come out much since he had little support”. On the other hand, the French midfielder Hommedumatch gave him a rating of 4.5 and assured: “He wasn't the best today, he didn't have the pleasure of playing particularly well.”

The English portal Si.com gave him a score of 6 out of 10 and said: “This is not the best performance of the Colombian. He had a quiet first half and was well led by Arsenal defenders. When he got the ball, he managed to get away from some Arsenal players, but he lacked the final product. An acceptable performance.”

Now the Colombian will have another opportunity to demonstrate his enormous potential on the field in Liverpool's next match against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup quarterfinals. The match will be played next Sunday, March 20 at 1:00pm (Colombian time) at the City Ground in the city of Nottingham, England.

Subsequently, the Colombian will travel to Barranquilla where he will join the Colombia National Team's rally for the final dates of the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. Reinaldo Rueda's team will face Bolivia next Thursday, March 24 at the Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez stadium and then face Venezuela, which is now led by Argentine coach José Néstor Pékerman.

Remember that Reinaldo Rueda's team has no room for error in the qualifiers, as they will have to score six points and wait for some results to qualify for the World Football Championship. Luis Díaz, for his part, must break the negative streak accumulated by the Colombian National Team since he has not been able to win or score goals in seven games. The last time Tricolor celebrated a goal was against the Chilean National Team on September 9, 2021.
