On the day of Congress, Senator of the National Action Party (PAN) Lilly Tellez urged the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) Alejandro Gertz Manero to testify in front of the Senate.
This is due to the fact that the prosecutor Gertz Manero will appear before the Senate behind a closed door about a scandal in the case of Alejandra Cuevas and Laura Moran, who have been imprisoned for more than 500 days for the missing murder of their brother Federico Gerz Manero.
The case was controversial recently, as an audio leak was leaked in which the prosecutors discussed with Juan Ramos talk about owning the project of Minister Pérez Dayán and interrupting them to prevent the release of women.
For this reason, he was chosen for breaking the law and taking advantage of his position for his own benefit, which caused outrage and protest from politicians, journalists and citizens.
In this context, the blue and white deputies asked the Republic Senator Olga Sánchez Cordero to appear in front of the House of Representatives at a meeting on March 16.
He wrote on his Twitter account: “Before the General Assembly is ratified, it must be held accountable to the General Assembly. Alejandro Gertz, the head of the FGR, must appear to all senators.” The legislator said.
Along with the comments, he attached a part of the participation that made the request.
He said: “We voted to ratify the prosecutor Gertz Manero... Before the plenary session, he must appear before the plenary session. “What we are talking about is very serious about the rule of law because prosecutors hear audio pressing on the courts,” Tellez said.
Similarly, on March 11, Téllez filed a lawsuit with the Chamber of Representatives due to the impeachment of the Attorney General, who announced on his official Twitter account that he had filed a complaint and showed a photo of the accusation.
It is not the first complaint to the prosecutor since the relatives of Alejandra Cuevas filed the same type of complaint with the Chamber of Commerce since the beginning of December 2021, and on March 8 it was announced that a pre-examination subcommittee would be formed to determine the source of the complaint.
Similarly, Ricardo Monreal, president of the Political Coordination Committee (Jucopo), confirmed the prosecutor's office on Thursday, March 17, when he will appear in front of the Senate on Thursday, March 17, and he has coordinated It was closed in front of the Board of Directors and the House of Representatives Legal Committee.
He argued that the decision to do this behind closed doors was due to the fact that national security issues would be dealt with, and none of the leaders representing the parties proposed an alternative.
Arturo Zaldívar de Larrea, Chief Minister of the National Supreme Court (SCJN), said on Monday, March 28 of the following week about the amparos promoted by Erora Moran and Alejandra Cuevas. New draft resolution.
