A judge from Tegucigalpa on Wednesday granted the extradition to the United States of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández (2014-2022), who was demanded to be prosecuted for drug trafficking and illegal use of weapons.
“Extradition Judge of First Instance decides: grant extradition request sent by the Southern District Court of New York to former President of the Republic Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, ” the Supreme Court of Justice reported on Twitter. This decision can still be appealed by the defense, explained a spokesman for the judiciary.
