Huaraz: driver died after being hit by his own car

The driver was fixing a mechanical failure in his car, with the engine running. The vehicle advanced and ended up running over it.

On the morning of this Wednesday, March 16, a man died when he was hit by his own car in the city of Huaraz, Áncash region. He would have been fixing a fault in the front of his station wagon, but the engine was running. The vehicle went ahead and ran over him.

The deceased was identified as Darío Flores Robles, 28 years old. According to local media, he had been detained in the vicinity of La Aventura Park to attend to a mechanical failure in his car. He got out of it and moved to the front of the car and lifted the hood.

Security camera footage from a nearby building captured the moment when the vehicle suddenly advanced and rammed the man. He fell to the ground and could not escape being run over. The neighbors rushed to his aid and, still alive, he was helped by serenes and taken to a nearby hospital. However, he did not endure the trip to the hospital ', due to the injuries of the accident.

Witnesses pointed out that the vehicle was running all the time, that Flores Robles was checking the engine and it suddenly disengaged.

“It is a fortuitous event because he, just trying, suddenly, to fix the breakdown in his vehicle has caused him to die,” Edwin Carranza, head of serenade of Huaraz, told Canal N.

Members of the National Police (PNP) arrived at the scene to begin investigations into the death of the man, who leaves his three minor children in the orphanage.

BUS RUNS OVER OFFICER IN SANTA ANITA

According to the Panamericana Television news program, the driver of the bus 'el chino' was identified as Juan Pablo Iparraguirre (44). According to the license plate of the vehicle, he would have a fine for picking up passengers in unauthorized places.
