Group of Davis Cup hosts in Malaga, Bologna, Glasgow and Hamburg

Malaga (Spain), Bologna (Italy), Glasgow (UK) and Hamburg (Germany) will host group stage qualifiers for the 2022 Davis Cup Final from September 14 to 18, announced Thursday by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Each of these four cities will host a group with a national team and three other formations, which will be decided to draw in London at 14:00 GMT on March 31.

Canada, who was eliminated in March in the qualifying round, received an invitation to advance to the finals.

This invitation was initially aimed at Serbia, but Novak Djokovic's team took the place to head to Russia (the current champion), which was originally excluded from the competition due to the invasion of Ukraine.

Therefore, the 16 teams that will qualify for the group stage are Croatia (last year's finalists), Serbia, the United Kingdom (guest), Canada (guest), Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Korea, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

The first two groups of each group will advance to the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be held at designated venues from November 23 to 27. “It can be Abu Dhabi,” said Gilles Moretton, president of the French Tennis Federation (FTT).
