Germán Vargas Lleras met with Federico Gutiérrez to define his eventual alliance

The leader of Radical Change seeks to hear various proposals to join a campaign

The results of the interparty consultations left important figures that seek to highlight in the first round of the presidential elections, Gustavo Petro, Sergio Fajardo and Federico Gutiérrez, try to ponder their ideas to seduce other candidates and political parties, in order to bring electoral forces to each of the campaigns. Federico Gutiérrez and Germán Vargas Lleras met to establish a possible alliance with Radical Change, as this party becomes a key token for the presidential candidates, who seek to win directly on May 29.

Apart from the candidates mentioned above, there are important figures such as Rodolfo Hernández and Ingrid Betancourt who stand out to the public, however, political forces outside the presidential contest seek to join those who have the greatest chance of becoming president, with this the parties may have some predominance within the government.

The meeting between Gutiérrez and Vargas Lleras was held at the Carlos Lleras Restrepo Foundation, as was able to establish RCN Radio, the Bogotá politician dialogue with the former mayor of Medellín about a possible union, however, there was no specific point to define this link and the doors were left open, because in this case, Vargas is the representative of Radical Change who is endorsed by the party to establish communication with all candidates and looks forward to hearing further proposals.

In the face of this meeting, Vallecaucano Senator Carlos Abraham Jiménez told RCN Radio that the dialogues established between Radical Change and any candidate for the presidency should be directly linked to a program agenda of the party, bearing in mind that the aspirant who seeks to lead the country must have a legislative package similar to that of this community in order to establish a commitment to move it forward.

Jiménez acknowledged that the Colombian economic system, at this time, has important flaws and that it must be improved, highlighting that the Colombian economic system must propose several modifications, therefore, they will present to candidates an agenda that is identified by citizens as proposals for radical change.

Finally, Senator de pointed out that the suitor who considers the party's proposals viable will be the one chosen to receive the support of this political group, stressing that such a pronouncement will be made no later than next week, considering that they expect to meet with as many candidates as possible.

In the elections last Sunday, the Radical Change party added 1,610,656 votes, obtaining 11 seats for the period of 202-2026, however, it should be noted that there was a significant abstention on the part of Colombians when going out to vote, so that these figures may change for the presidential elections in May and to add more votes for the different sectors.

According to W Radio, Germán Vargas Lleras had already had a telephone meeting with Gustavo Petro, prior to his meeting with Federico Gutiérrez, the former vice president of the Republic highlighted the role of the left in the current elections and through his lobbyists in the senate, he has sought to create approaches with the Historical Pact bearing in mind that it is the main force of congress for this new legislature.

The votes of La U, Cambio Radical, the Liberal Party and other political groups, are adrift and attentive to any decision by their leaders to join any of the campaigns, and some presidential candidates such as Luis Gilberto Murillo have even given up their aspiration to join another community directly, since it became known today that Murillo will be Sergio Fajardo's vice-presidential formula.
