Frailejón Ernesto Pérez

Frailejón Ernesto Pérez, as the name says, is the animated representation of a friar who is part of the series Magic Cuentitos, a production by Señal Colombia. According to the synopsis of the program, it is an audiovisual content created in order to educate children about the importance of environmental care. Its mission, according to its creators, is “to teach all people how to take care of the planet, using their powers to create and control water, their multiple eyes to be able to observe what is happening and who is polluting the environment”.

The character became an icon after a song went viral through social networks in which he presents and explains what his role is in nature as a friar. This plant lives in the moors of Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador, and its function, as Frailejón Ernesto explains, is to absorb moisture from the mist with its leaves and then, through its roots, to release it when there is drought. In his song, says the tender character, he recommends turning off the water tap when the liquid is not being used, turning off the lights in the house before sleeping, to save energy, and learn to identify garbage so that it can be recycled.

The voice of Frailejón Ernesto is given by Carlos Andrés Correa, member of RTVC.

So far, according to the images revealed by Frailejón Ernesto regarding his participation in the prestigious Music Festival that will take place from March 25 to 27, Perez is seen wearing a ribbon in his head that reads 'Frai & Rock'. He is seen on stage holding a guitar while his fans, from the audience, record his performance.

Likewise, there is an image of Frailejón Ernesto, facing one of the Festival's stages. Next to his photograph is the screen of a cell phone on which there is a particular playlist. “Stereo Picnic. My playlist: Everlong, Campo Alegre, Someday, Canción Migratoria, and Frailejón Ernesto Pérez”, he was on the phone. “Last hour! We are going to live a different world with Ernesto Pérez in FEP. Our beloved Frailejón will also rock at the Festival. What would you ask Frailejón Ernesto Perez?” , highlighted RTVC.

According to RTVC, Frailejón will be accompanied by the young 12-year-old social environmental leader, Francisco Javier Vera.

For an interview with Radiónica, Freilejón Ernesto Pérez explained what he will do at the Festival. “Dancing, jumping, listening to many bands, rock, metal, vallenato, lots of music and most importantly, remind all my little friends how to take care of the planet when we go to such a place, with a lot of people,” said the beloved character.

In the same way, Frailejón gave some tips to protect the environment during the three musical days of the FEP. “There are many ways to help take care of the environment at the festival, for example if you share the cart with many friends and friends, you will reduce vehicle pollution (...) Do not pee on the floor. You wait to use the festival bathroom so that some chemicals don't get to the ground. Nothing that has chemicals should fall on the floor and pee sometimes has what you eat or what you drink. And that when you see garbage lying on the floor you make sure you take it to the right place,” he concluded.
