“For safety”: Riccardo Monreal confirms that Gerz Manero appeared in the Senate

“Respect, but strong,” he explained what a meeting with the Republic's Attorney General looked like.

Ricardo Monreal, chairman of the Republic Senate's Political Coordination Committee (Jucopo), reported that Alejandro Gerz Manero will be fired on camera ahead of a meeting on Thursday, March 17, on Justice Committee of the House of Representatives.

This Wednesday, the President of the Bank of the Senate National Renewal Movement (Morena) said that all Congress Bank leaders agreed that they should maintain their appearance in this way, given the sensitivity of the issues being treated with stealth.

However, this does not mean that the appearance will not be strong, since the senator present has the freedom to appeal to the Republic's prosecutor's office according to his own criteria. He also said that Gertz Manero and the senator will be extremely cooperative, so that it will be done in a respectful environment on both sides.

He explained that “depending on the type of appearance,” he agreed that the bank managers of PAN, PRI, PRD, GPP, PT, PES and PVEM should be closed with him. In this context, he said that a more prudent model was chosen, not because information about the Mexican people is kept secret, but because they are sensitive issues and national security.

It is also known that the waiting time will be confirmed, but it will be between 16:00 and 18:00 (time in central Mexico) on Thursday.

I explained that the format would look different. The guest will speak up for a few minutes to resolve this issue. Judicial committee members and congressional group chairman will be held accountable according to their standards, and Gertz Manero will eventually speak again. Answer the questions.

According to this logic, he was convinced that the appearance was “strong” because the prosecution's situation was delicate in relation to the citizen's point of view. However, he felt that it would be done in a respectful way, as both sides of the Senate and the prosecutor's office acted.

All party leaders in the Senate agreed that appearances should be behind closed doors, but PAN senators Xóchitl Gálvez and Lilly Telez said they were against signing the bank coordinator.

And since the two lawmakers have expressed in a public session that the Republic's prosecutor was ratified by the entire Senate, the public appearance according to this idea seems just as compatible with them as it was before the plenary session.

“It is unacceptable that Alejandro Gertz Manero, head of the FGR, must come to the Senate of the Republic tomorrow and appear in front of a small number of senators. We all voted and deserve to be brought to the General Assembly. What are they afraid of? Don't turn it off,” wrote Galves Ruiz on social media.

Meanwhile, Telez García took the floor throughout the Senate to urge Olga Sánchez Cordero, the chair of the Senate, to appear before the House of Representatives, which ratified him in his current position.

“I would like to ask all senators to exercise their authority to bring the Republic's Attorney General to the plenary session because they are interested in asking some questions that are part of the powers of all countries in the Republic,” Telez García urged on behalf of Olga Sánchez Cordero.
