Former goalkeeper Eduardo Blandón is well remembered by Millonarios fans as he was part of the squad that defeated Sao Pablo in the legendary Morumbi for Copa Sur America in 2007, with the score of Luis Eduardo Zapata who would later earn the nickname of Brazil's historic stadium.
That team was led by the Argentine Mario Vanemerak who led the 'Ambassador' to the semifinals of the contest where he fell to the America of Mexico, which had Paraguayan striker Salvador Cabañas among his figures.
After his time in the capital's squad, Eduardo Blandón wore the shirts of Atlético Nacional, América de Cali, Boyaca Chico and would end his career in 2015 at Deportes Quindio. Internationally, he had a brief time in Argentine football where he performed for the Western Railway.
Precisely, the former goalkeeper settled in the city of Armenia more than seven years ago where he opened his own archery academy where he seeks to make new promises in the goal.

In addition to his archers training school, Blandón also serves as coach of the Quindío departmental league and is president of the Caciques Centenario FC club.
The ex-cancerbero team has played several youth tournaments including the amateur football championships organized by Difútbol.
For 2017, the Colombian Football Amateur Division (Difútbol) together with Dimayor headed by former president Jorge Perdono, decided to divide the national U20 interclub championship into two zones.
In their second participation Caciques Centenario FC, they managed to finish in the top ten, which is why they achieved promotion to play in 2020 the Youth Super Cup. However, due to the pandemic this tournament could not be played.
Last year the governing body of amateur football did not see the realization of the youth championship viable either, so it was believed that the clubs that won their right in 2019 had their fixed quota for this 2022.
However, Difútbol decided to exclude them without prior notice from the competition that will be held this year with 60 teams from all over the country. So far, neither the entity nor Álvaro González have spoken out on this matter.
In the same way, Eduardo Blandón said that in addition to the players, the economic part of the teams that have made a considerable investment to participate in these tournaments is also affected.
The former player is waiting for an explanation from Difútbol in order to be able to participate in the tournament before resorting to judicial instances.
