EA Sports Fifa 22 returns with a face-to-face event, the final of the Conmebol eLibertadores

The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the suspension or holding of several individual eSports tournaments. Cases have now decreased and traditional activities are gradually resuming. It is thanks to this that competitive gaming tournaments continue to work like CONMEBOL eLibertadores.

Through a statement, Electronic Arts confirmed that on March 19 and 20, the FIFA 22 CONMEBOL eLibertadores final will be held live on March 19 and 20, the last leg of this competitive tournament will be held at the Congress Center of the Southern Confederation. Awards and eight representatives from South America

With a total prize pool of $100,000 to be distributed, it will feature the eight best players in South America on March 19 and 20. In addition to the Grand Prix, they will be looking for one of the three direct places for the GLOBAL SERIES qualifiers.

Finalists looking to become CONMEBOL eLiberatodores champions will wear the jerseys of clubs and organizations such as INFINITY, Essentials Gaming, MGCF Esports, SPQR Team, NMG Esports and Team R10.

What is CONMEBOL eLibertadores?

The Copa Libertadores, the most important soccer event in South America, also has its version in esports: CONMEBOL eLibertadores, an event that joins the FIFA 21 Global Series and awards $100,000 in prizes and six seats for the South American qualifiers in view of the FIFA eWorld Cup 2021, the most important of the virtual ball.

The launch of CONMEBOL eLibertadores was scheduled for 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of the FIFA 20 Global Series and the launch was postponed. Finally, the event started on 16 and 17 January 2021 with the first qualifying stage and ended on 17 March 2021.

CONMEBOL eLibertadores takes place in three qualifying stages

- Online Phase 1: Open participation to unverified players in FUT Champions. It is played by knockout.

- Online Phase 2: 32 teams qualified in the online phase and players registered for the Global Series and verified in FUT Champions. A group stage is played and then the double elimination key is assembled (with the winners and losers).

- Grand Final: Qualify the top 16 players from Phase 2 online (8 on PlayStation 5 and 8 on Xbox One). A double elimination group stage is played and the top two from each zone advance to the semifinals. Champions from each console then compete in a double match final (one on each device) to define the CONMEBOL Champion of Elibertadores .
