An assault that got out of control and an infamous conspiracy were behind the crime of Mr. Octavio Osorio, father of CES University rector Jorge Julián Osorio, in Medellín (Antioquia), who was killed last Friday, March 11.

In an article in the newspaper El Colombiano, they consulted with the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Section of the Police, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office, they succeeded in getting the domestic servant of the educator's parents to confess her association with this crime.

The woman was betrayed by the nervousness and constant change in her account of what happened in the attempted robbery where the older adult was killed. Initially, he claimed that the criminals were Afro-descendants, but later described them as trigueños, and in the midst of that constant inquiry the woman could not stand and pointed out that the assailants were his spouse and his brother-in-law, they reported in the Antioquia newspaper.

According to her confession, what they had planned was for her to open the door for them, but she did not think that the criminals would attack Mr. Osorio, his wife and daughter, all of them older adults.

Once the authorities indicated the seriousness of the crime in which she was involved, they indicated in El Colombiano, she pledged to collaborate with the authorities and provided the identities of who would be the assailants and murderers.

On the Alerta Paisa station, they reported that this is how Juan Carlos Cárcamo Martínez, alias El Negro, was captured in Sincelejo (Sucre), who would be planning to flee to Venezuela, through La Guajira.

While in Bello, metropolitan area of Medellín, alias Javier was arrested, after an operation involving members of GOES and even the Police helicopter was used. The latter, they also pointed out in El Colombiano, would be the partner of the domestic worker.

What caught the attention of the authorities

In the first investigations, the authorities found that the thieves entered without breaking doors or windows. Once inside, not only was 93-year-old Osorio murdered, but Margarita Gómez Peláez, 91, mother of the rector, was also hit in the nose, and the rector's 64-year-old sister was wounded with a stab.

It is not observed that the door, the windows or the balcony have been violated. The body is being inspected, urgent actors are being carried out, interviews and videos reviewed. We have the characteristics of the aggressors,” initially stated Colonel José Galindo, Operational Commander of the Metropolitan Police of Medellín.

That was the loose end with which the authorities reached the female accomplice of the criminals and managed to clarify that it was a robbery that got out of control.

In the account of the reconstruction of those that occurred, in El Colombiano they narrated that the domestic worker was hired to replace the trusted worker in that household for a week, and who had suffered a family calamity.

As it was her last day of work, the criminal agreed with the assailants that she would open the door for her to perpetrate the robbery. They broke in with violence and later attacked one of the daughters of the parents of the rector of the ETUC, who was wounded in the mouth.

Then they started looking for what to rob from home and on the way they met the wife of the murdered man, Mrs. Margarita Gomez, 91, who was smashed into a wall and ended up with a nose injury.

This caused the nervousness of Mr. Octavio Osorio who began to scream for help, which would have angered the criminals who stabbed him in the abdomen and whose injuries caused him death.
