Call launches to fund audiovisual projects in Colombia

The shorts most rated by a group of audiovisual experts and the ones most voted on social networks also reach public television channels.

Cameramen, makeup artists, sound engineers, producers and other professionals from the Colombian audiovisual industry can register to receive financial assistance to produce the project.From March 24 to April 13, the national government will open a Great Story Call through the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MinTic) to reward 3.6 billion pesos for the 300 best ideas.

The government portfolio explained in detail that this year the story should be 6 minutes long, and three modalities were held: single (short of up to 6 minutes), two chapters in a series and three chapters in a series (each chapter up to 6 minutes). The fragments most rated by a group of audiovisual experts and the ones most voted on social networks also reach public television channels.

Winners of this currency will receive two payments. It is 50% at the beginning, and 50% when the goods are delivered and all the documents are filed. In addition, it is necessary to sign permission to publish shorts on digital and television screens of local channels of the country.

According to MinTic, over the past few years, the objectives set for this initiative have been met, and visibility into the productions achieved has increased. Over the course of two years, 'The Great Story' received 2,000 scripts from across the country, of which 3,600 minutes of fiction became a reality.

Likewise, the Government of President Iván Duque Márquez has allocated historic investments in the Colombian public television and audiovisual industry, with almost 1.2 billion pesos allocated to modernize the public television infrastructure, strengthen content and educate resources to work on public channels.

If you are interested in participating in 'Great Stories', you must submit and submit the following documents:

- The format of the presentation of the project, including the storyline, the topic, the target audience of the proposal, and the summary of the story.

- Resumes of individual participants regarding the form 1. For forms 2 and 3, resumes of each member of the group are required.

- Literary script in a single format, if you are an individual participant of mode 1.

- Two or three scripts of chapters corresponding to the web mini-series for forms 2 and 3, if the proposal is for a group.

- a document certifying the applicant's academic training, career and/or employment trajectory and/or a duly issued certificate certifying the association with a legal entity formed for the purpose of associative representation.
