After almost three years, Barry returns to television with a third season that will arrive again on the HBO channel and platform. This is how the first teaser for the new episodes in which Bill Hader will once again give life to the hit man he is trying to recover was finally revealed the normality in his life. As we had seen before, the protagonist eliminated most of the targets that initially overturned him in this violent world, but these will not be the only ones and will appear more along the way.
“What does his own psyche have that led him to become a murderer in the first place? The third season finds Barry and the other characters trying to make the right choice,” says an excerpt from the official synopsis of the new installment of the acclaimed comedy and crime series. The official advance shows us man to go in search of forgiveness for himself, after all the lives he claimed in the last chapters.
Barry is considered among the best-received series by critics in the HBO catalog and, in turn, has been recognized with six Emmy Awards victories out of the 30 nominations he has earned since his debut on the small screen in 2018. Hader was considered among the candidates for Best Actor in a Comedy for his role as Barry Berkman and his co-star, Henry Winkler, was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the same television category.
Created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader himself, this black comedy begins its story by introducing us to a retired sailor in Cleveland who works as a hired hit man. When he begins to notice that his life is completely sad, boring and lonely, he travels to Los Angeles to go after a new goal and ends up falling in love with the drama classes he infiltrated to find him. Romance and friendship will also change his life and he will have to decide between two facets of himself that he tries to bring together, however strange it may be.
Bill Hader, Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan and Sarah Bruns make up the main cast. The production's recurring stars include Paula Newsome, Michael Irby, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, D'Arcy Carden, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Jessy Hodges, Robert Curtis Brown, James Hiroyuki Liao, among others. Actor Jon Hamm, known for Mad Men, appeared as himself in a guest role.
What will happen in the third season of Barry?
The last thing we saw in the fiction was a surprising ending in which Gene discovered that Barry had murdered his girlfriend, Janice, during the first season. The little that the breakthrough showed was that Barry tries to deal with those bad decisions that precede him and tries to go a better way while splitting between his two lives, as a common subject and as an expert killer.
Barry's third season will mark his return on April 24 to HBO and HBO Max. In total, the long-awaited continuation will be composed of eight episodes, just like the previous ones.
