The alleged statements of some public figures are often spread on social networks and go viral. At election time, it is common to regard the opinion of the candidate, which turns out to be false; That is why, to clarify once again that the reflection that allegedly attacked Gustavo Petro by former priest Alberto Linero is false and that his name belongs to him.
Through the microphone of Blu Radio, the man says, “I receive congratulations and harsh criticism on the network and WhatsApp for the reflection that I did not do but that appears in my name. It is a political disqualification for the candidate Gustavo Petro, who has an aggressive tone that is not written properly and does not characterize my reflection.” He added that he was surprised by the number of people who blindly believed that this post was his own, even though he did not see it on his social media profile or in the media he works for.
He pointed out to many that it was necessary to make it clear that the words expressed in the reflection were not their own, but given the huge number of users of social networks that replicated it, he preferred to make a public statement. In addition, he asked those who saw the publication “not to be a useful ifool for those who seek to aggravate our feelings and drive us into verbal violence as the only way of solution/i.”
However, this is not an unprecedented situation, since Linero himself pointed out that these false reflections emerged in 2018 in the midst of the presidential campaign that Gustavo Petro and Iván Duque were discussing in the second round. According to the former priest, they “played” her before a similar election campaign.
This publication, which has already been falsely reported on social networks, is:
“The double standard of many people... SAD is a country that offends a president who has never been a paramilitary or guerrilla, and the only flaw is to have the support of a former president who thinks he is suspicious, but it seems normal for guerrillas who participated in kidnapping, murder and rape to become president. It is also supported by a suspicious president who, being a dictator in Venezuela, is still the president and is supported by the FARC, the largest drug traffickers and terrorist group on the planet. Uribe's support for Duque is more serious for people than FARC and Maduro's support for Petrov... They think that Petro is more serious than Duque from the Democratic Center, which belongs to the M-19.”
On several occasions, from 2018 to today, the former priest had to make it clear that these reflections were not his own. “It must be made clear that we do not write politics that support candidates, nor do we express about political trends in the network. The network that expressed my support for the candidate is FALSE, it is enough to spread propaganda on behalf of others,” he wrote through social networks in 2018.
In 2020, the publication went viral again and Alberto Linero reiterated the explanation he had made since 2018. “I don't send messages of prayer on WhatsApp and I have much less political disqualification. My message is on my network and in the printed materials I have created. Do not give in to the evil of putting in my mouth and hands what I have not said.” He said at the time.
A year later, in 2021, the alleged reflection was spread again, and the former priest contacted La Silla Vacía to confirm that it was his word. “It's fake. I've never posted or said anything like that on the network.” Linero claimed.
