Marko Cortés, national leader of the blue and white party, categorized the administration of López Obrador in the same way

The national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), Marko Cortés, launched a harsh criticism of the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) and the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) by calling them a “duckling”. It is understood that the megaproject of the Chief Executive will be inaugurated on 21 March.

In a remote press conference, the blue and white national leader assured that one of López Obrador's megaprojects “is a ducky airport like this Morena government”. After cataloging it in this way, Cortés compared the AIFA with the one initiated by former PRI President Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) in Texcoco, which was canceled, being one of the first decisions taken by the leader of the self-described Fourth Transformation (Q4) at the beginning of his term.

“It will only have 14 positions for the planes instead of the 120 that Texcoco airport was going to have, as if that were not enough, the costs of Saint Lucia skyrocketed. The president said that the construction of the airport would have a total cost of 75 billion pesos, which was not true either, because so far at least 115 billion have been spent, 50% more than they had estimated,” said Marko Cortés.

For his part, the coordinator of the PAN in the Senate of the Republic, Julen Rementería, indicated that the megaproject of the Tabasqueño administration “is an airport rather with characteristics of a regional airport and, by the way, not one of the big ones.”

Likewise, one of the key arguments in Rementaria's criticism was the time it will take for the capital to reach AIFA, since, according to his statements, it is faster to arrive in some states of the Republic. These comments were supported by PAN Secretary General, Cecilia Patrón, who emphasized thehigh” costs that Mexico City residents will have to pay for their mobilization.

It is an airport that is absolutely poorly planned and that does not have the capacity to solve problems or even grow,” said the PAN coordinator.

In addition to this, it is necessary to mention that the federal government announced through its official Twitter account the fares and routes that will be available in Mexico City and the State from Mexico to get to AIFA.
