Marko Cortés, the national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), began a harsh criticism of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrado (AMLO) and the administration of Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), calling it “duck”. It is understood that the mega project of the Chief Executive will begin on March 21.
At a remote press conference, the blue and white national leader assured that one of López Obrador's mega-projects was “a duck airport like this Morena government.” After cataloging it in this way, Cortes compared the AIFA to what was launched by former PRI President Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) in Texcoco, which was canceled, which was initially self-described, of the fourth transformation (Q4). This is one of the first decisions taken by the leaderduring his tenure.
“Instead of the 120 that Texcoco Airport will have, we will only have 14 locations for the plane. As if it were not enough, the cost of Saint Lucia skyrocketed. The president said that the total cost of building the airport will be 750 billion pesos. This was not true because $115 billion was spent, 50% more than expected so far,” said Marko Cortés.
Julen Rementería, PAN coordinator of the Senate of the Republic, pointed out that the mega-project of the Tabasqueño administration “is an airport with the characteristics of a regional airport, and it is not one of the big ones”.
Likewise, one of the main arguments in the criticism of Rementaria was the time it took for the capital to reach AIFA. It is because, according to his statement, it is faster to arrive in some states of the republic. These comments were supported by the Secretary General of PAN Cecilia Patrón, who highlighted the “high” costs that residents of Mexico City have to pay for mobilization.
“It is an airport that has no plans at all and does not have the ability to solve problems or grow,” said the PAN coordinator.
In addition to this, it is worth mentioning that the federal government has announced the following rates and routes through its official Twitter account: It is available in Mexico City and the State in Mexico to get to AIFA.
