Diosdado Cabello, vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and number two of Chavismo, referred to the arrest warrant ordered by a female judge in the event that it entered the national territory. The official of the Nicolás Maduro regime assured that he was in our country and linked the decision to order his detention as part of the agreement of the Government of Alberto Fernández with the International Monetary Fund.

A few days ago, Mariela Alejandra Giménez, a subrogant of the federal court in Jujuy, issued an arrest warrant against the Venezuelan leader, accused of drug trafficking, in case he attempts to enter Argentina.

In the court decision, the magistrate indicated that it was known that Cabello was going to travel to Argentina “approximately March 11, 2022″ and that he would enter through the province of Jujuy.

Giménez indicated that the case was initiated on the basis of a message from the International Legal Aid Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, in which “it was informed of the existence of a request for pre-trial international detention for the purpose of extradition that was retransmitted to the Embassy of the Argentine Republic, through the Embassy of the United States”.

In this context, the judicial order was sent to the Federal Police, the Gendarmerie (border police) and the Airport Security Police with an alert with the photograph of the Chavista official and stating that he “would have a request for arrest by the United States”.

This Wednesday, Diosdado Cabello addressed the issue in the television program that he conducts in Venezuela, Con el Mazo Dando. “I walked through Argentina,” said the vice president of the PSUV, who mentioned that he reached “to Patagonia.” “I didn't bring a penguin because I couldn't,” he added with a laugh.

“I was in Puerto Madero, I was walking around, it's nice...”, he revealed and also referred to the “story of Argentine meat”: “It's not that good, here in Venezuela there is meat like that.”

Continuing his tone of mockery, he said that he was “so happy with the alfajores that I was eager and had to send to buy”.

Regarding Judge Giménez's arrest warrant, she said: “I know the reason for all that; they thought I was going to visit Milagro Sala, they fear that woman's voice, and what she says to me I'm going to tell the world.” In defense of the leader Tupac Amaru, he said that “Macri put her in jail and Mr. Fernández did not find a way to let her go.”

“As they were negotiating with the International Monetary Fund, the Argentine Foreign Ministry sent a judge in charge who is not even the holder of office...” , played Cabello. “Don't make me talk that I know the whole story..., but yes, I ate there; I'm not a drinker -they brought me wine-, I had a snowball,” he concluded his mockery.

In the judicial order ordering his arrest, the Argentine judge stated that Maduro's number two is accused of “conspiracy to distribute and hold five kilograms or more of cocaine for the purpose of distributing five kilograms or more of cocaine, knowingly and with the direct or indirect intention of granting a property with monetary value to an organization that is or has been involved in terrorist activities or acts of terrorism”. In addition, he emphasizes that he is also accused of “importing cocaine and “using and carrying a firearm to commit the crimes of drug trafficking”.

This is not the first time that the Chavista official has criticized Alberto Fernández's government for its stance with the Monetary Fund. In late January, following Argentina's request to the UN for Justice to condemn human rights violations in Venezuela, Cabello questioned: “Does the International Monetary Fund put a lot of pressure on it? Does the World Bank put a lot of pressure on president? ”.

He had previously accused the Argentine president of being “lukewarm”. “She has delicate skin. Fortunately, I am free, Mr. Fernández. Fortunately! It is sad that in scenarios where Argentina and Venezuela went together when commander (Hugo) Chávez and (Néstor) Kirchner were there, now the warmth seems to be separated, not precisely because of Venezuela,” he said at the time, at the end of 2020.

He added: “Don't bother, Mr. Fernández. If you're lukewarm, let's face it. We are revolutionaries, hot, we boil, our blood is boiling. We don't walk with half measures or guabineos, here in Venezuela we are firm, we don't settle down to smile at the bosses.”
