The presidential debate on Monday, March 14, organized by the newspaper El Tiempo and the magazine Semana, left a very tough confrontation between the three participants: Gustavo Petro, Ingrid Betancourt, and Federico Gutierrez. Several reactions to the meeting were evident on social media, including Senator Gustavo Bolivar.
During the discussion, the Colombian coalition candidate team intervened several times to criticize Gustavo Petro's proposal and the role he played in past politics. In view of this, Senator Gustavo Bolívar gave Federico Gutierrez the nickname “Ficofake” and claimed that the answers he provided during the discussion were lacking in height.
“Picofake has no speech. It's based on the response to attack Petro. There's no debate.” Bolívar wrote on his Twitter account. He pointed out that the candidate for the history treaty “has no competitors”. He is the only one who proposes and consumes half of the controversy that interferes with fake news.” He added.
In her publication, she also stated that she was “very lost and very low”, referring to a candidate for Green Oxygen. These statements refer to a time when Betancourt raised the mental health problems that Petro faced several years ago.
The senator reminded Betancourt that he worked as an advisor to the Treasury during the administration of Cesar Gaviria. This situation would be contradictory given that Ingrid was one of the main criticisms of the current head of liberalism who joined Petro. “What government did you work for when you were appointed to the Belgian Embassy?” Betancourt replied: The candidate for the Historical Treaty wanted to kill him in Colombia and was convinced that he went to the country because he did not miss the opportunity to ask the other party another question in the polls.
“You're the one who came to visit me from my home in Belgium with Carlos Alonso Lucio. What theory did they try to convince me? I'm not going to participate in internal discussions because I don't want to fall into intimacy.”
There, Ingrid Betancourt launched a reprehensible message questioning her in various sectors around the country to expose the mental health of the head of human Colombia. “Don't rewrite history. The country knows the fight I fought with Samper. While I was at the embassy, I was fighting here (Samper) and I blamed the funds.” He recorded and recorded the following exchange of messages:
“They killed me and resigned. Do you know why? - I said Petro.
- I think I have Alzheimer's disease. I honestly don't think you've ever seen this. In fact, when I visited Gustavo, I remember that he was in a big depression, was lying on the floor and couldn't move. I wouldn't be involved in your private life, Gustavo, but what the country knew was me if someone had confronted Ernesto Samper. I responded to a candidate for green oxygen.
Ingrid Betancourt was criticized on social media for these statements and did not regret the controversial moment, said the Blu Radio candidate: “I am not a doctor, I expressed the situation I interpreted at the time, but I don't know about her health at the time.” I explained that. He argued that it was “a colloquial way of expressing memories that I saw at that time”.
