Likewise, Governor Samuel García posted on social networks about the detention of political debates. “We are finally successful” campaign since the current state president complained about the transition of public resources for the president since 2018.

In May 2018, the National Institute of Elections (INE) imposed a fine of 739,000 pesos on Jamie Rodriguez after discovering an illegal financing scheme that used about 12.800,000 pesos to obtain the signature necessary to independently approve the presidential candidate.

Jaime Rodríguez, better known as “The Bronco” for his controversial statements and frankness, was an independent presidential candidate at the 2018 convention. It was the first election that allowed citizens to compete without a political party thanks to the electoral reform of 2014, which opened up these possibilities.

The requirement to win the candidate was to obtain approximately 866,000 voter signatures to attend the ballot. This support had to be distributed to 17 states with 1% of each organization's record.

In addition to the discussions formed due to the lack of independent candidates, there were complaints about the number of signatures required for registration, since all three of them belonged to the parties and had financial means. Without funds, other competitors could not get it easily.

Of the 48 people who sought candidates, only the one with a political past, the fanlist Margarita Jabala, Peredist Senator Armando Rios Peter and, of course, Rodriguez Calderon, who spent 33 years in the PRI, succeeded.

And according to the verification of the INE rubric, the signatures obtained by three applicants came out, since almost all candidates for the presidential candidate fraudulently included numerous signatures in the register.

The winner of the award was Senator Rios Peter, who, out of the 700,000 signatures he submitted, were recognized as false.

After that, out of the 2 million rubrics gathered by El Bronco, about 338,000 false signatures, Margarita Zavala was able to obtain a candidate registration by obtaining 870,000 signatures, but this was not the case without discarding at least 219,000 people because they were considered false by the Institute.

Rios Peter withdrew from the contest, and Zavala and El Bronco continued in the competition. Rodriguez Calderon was withdrawn by the INE, but was able to continue the electoral process after the Electoral Tribunal ruled in favor.

In addition to wild horses, Samuel García accused 595 officials in the 2018 State Anti-Corruption and Election Crime Prosecutors for alleged money laundering and misuse of resources in favor of the Governor's presidential project, which was an independent candidate at the time for the President.

In addition, recently the records of Manuel Vital, two collaborators of the former governor, and María de Los Angeles Errisúriz, who served as head of education, were frozen.
